Ever since I moved on from PB years ago to Airsoft, I have met some great people, formed an Team and enjoyed road trips (Wheltfest) that make this Hobby an real joy to be part of...$1000 bucks is tip of the iceberg, I'm almost near 6G in spending on this sport and still buying shit! lol
Did I mention this hobby KICKS ASS?
Just checking the memo:rolleyes:

.... I'm Asian. Airsoft is like the Japanese version of Paintball. Nuff said.

I also like the fact that I can network with a lot of people I probably wouldn't have met anyways. Other people who have similar interests as I do, and sometimes even other professionals. Case in point, I was looking for a co-op job for university, posted on a local airsoft forum and got a potential lead on a company that hires a lot of students but it seems like my school doesn't have contact with them so it's all good.

Hell just this year even not professionally I've met another student who's into airsoft, I'm going on an alps trip with another guy who's also in Europe on Exchange, I have someone on my MSN that's half way across the country from me.

Also the community tends to weed out the assholes, cheaters and scammers fairly well. I mean there are some but it's not as common as in paintball with their wiping and all that (except stock/open class paintball, I have respect for those guys).

I wants to play CoD....4 r341s y0!

...ok my inner PC gamer nerd is settled. Its a great hobby. You run around and shoot people for fun without all the legal consequences, I enjoy the realism that airsoft challenges you with, and you get to play around with realistic looking "toy" guns. I've probably hit the $5k mark after 3 years and I will probably spend more.

Meth was making my teeth wiggle.

I can't afford meth anymore.

Airsoft is the anti drug.

Hmmm...You should change therapy.

You can lose teeth in airsoft...

Airsoft costs more then a meth addiction...

Airsoft is addictive as hell...

:D

Cant shoot people with real guns without going to jail...

And despite the shitty ballistics of airsoft, they are accurate enough. There is no greater thrill in my mind, than hunting a man.

Plus, with airsoft, besides training on tactics and movement in a combat situation, it forces you to become good at stealth and concealment because of the effective range of the guns.

Plus its wicked good fun

First off, this has nothing to do with Airsoft Gun Discussions: moved to General. Please post in the right section or you'll receive an infraction.

Secondly, why? Because it's fun and I like it. Why else?

Any sport/hobby has costs associated to it and as far as adult hobbies go, airsoft isn't all that expensive; I'd say mid range, and maybe even an inexpensive hobby if you consider a lot of the new low cost guns and gear that have come out in the past couple of years.

Because I can't shoot my friends with .223
It gets kind of icky and there are legalities involved.

Much more fun!

TechSeller November 10th, 2010 11:12

It's part of my mid-life crisis package.

agreed wholeheartedly. I have this argument with my sort-of-mother-in-law allot, it always comes down to "its all the best parts of combat without the hours of suck and fear of death."

Sorry. Didn't exactly know what section to put it in wether general, airsofting, or whatever.

Anyways my friend who is also into airsofting got us something to do every Sunday of the summer. A guy he works with has scrims on Sundays in summer and invited my friend with a 5 man team. So far we have 4.

Mezer November 10th, 2010 21:46

it's like any sport... If you ski you paid 1000$ for the ski + the gear... it's the same with airsoft. I love that and it's a sport. You not just ''costume'' your self or shoot plastic bb it's a team work game and a tactical game.

coach November 10th, 2010 21:55

The point is I get to shoot at you, you get to shoot at me. No matter how many times we get hit, we can dust ourselves off and do it again and again and again. Then at the end of the day we can all go home...not dead!!

Honestly though, it's more fun shooting at moving targets that can get up and run again. Moving targets become a little short in supply after the first game with real guns and bullets! Those games don't last long and we really hate paying the full field fee for such a short time.
