Always check on your battery while its charging, I do every 20 - 30 minutes.
Also you want to stop once its "warm to the touch" thats when your battery is done charging.

What kind of "smart charger" is it?
I use a TLP 4000 and it beeps every few seconds when the battery is just warm to the touch and done.

wait wat? I have the LCD version of that charger. So the beeps mean the battery is done charging, Because I let the batteries get hot to the touch and the mah reach around 1500 Mah on the lcd screen. Is that bad? I use the slow charge.

Hot is bad. As for the 1500mAh, it depends on what capacity of battery you have.

1400mah, usually can get them to 1526 on the lcd. Damm I'm probably degrading their life then.

Don't sand down the magwell just yet. I have King Arms 68 round metal mags, and they didn't feed properly in my G&P metal body. You had to push them up just like your situation Drache.

I had to file down the BB retainer in the mags, as the hopup was not pushing it out of the way far enough.

So yes, it is a hopup issue as far as I could say.

odd, KA mags are the only ones that work in my G&P m4. nothing and i mean nothing else feeds!

So you don't use the delta peak detection to stop the charge? Why the hell do you even have a smart charger then?

He may be talking about the charge current when the charger detects peak and shuts down.

My MRC 989 displays the amount of mah during and at the end of the charge cycle.

I had an Intellipeak charger that went nuts on me, systematically killed all my batteries.

Once the logic gets damaged, it can do all kinds of shitty things to your batts.

If you've got some sort of explanations for the charge types for it, share please.
If I had to buy another charger, I'd buy the $35 smart charger that just shuts off when done. The one I have TLP expro (just checked the model #) is overkill for me and just came with a sheet of paper with writing on it like

"connect battery- slow charge"
"push start button 1 time fast charge, slow charge"
"push start button 2 times fuzzy logic charge (discharge, 2 min slow charge, fast charge, slow charge, bb sound"

I never tried ( or think I stopped doing) the fuzzy logic charge for the Ni-mh battery because I thought discharging is not necessary and/or not good for the battery, so I just do slow charge, or fast then slow charge.

Are you saying I should be doing Fuzzy logic charge?

And is the 3 cycle charge option for trying to revive dead battery?

thanks.
