Your first AEG and your opinions about it?

As the name states i want to know what you guys had as your first AEG. Also, state if it works and how long you have had it also, give some pros and cons on the gun compared to your favourite AEG to date. I'm 17 and my birthday is coming up and i'm looking to get verified soon and get a little something something from the classifieds.

p.s If i get verified do i have to be active monthly (via matches or re-verification)? i have school and such.

EDIT! POST PICS

Once you are verified its done, but you can have it removed for various reasons but that usually never happens. Your first gun should be either a:

M4
MP5
AK 47

Why because everyone has them, which means basically everyone can help you with problems plus there are tons of upgrades and parts to choose from.

Here watch this video.

My first AEG is a KWA G36c, simply because I've always liked that model. Had some trouble finding a vest that can hold the magazines (biggest mags out there, you can fit two M4 magazines into the same pouch I put one G36 mag) but nothing major.

I've had it for three months now, but the gun itself is a little more than a year old. Gamed it only once so far. After some hopup adjustments it shoots hard and straight. Great solid gun. Cant compare it to my other AEG because this one is my 'outdoor' gun and the other is my 'indoor' gun! :)

RaisinBran April 17th, 2011 21:04

First, Second and Third were all M4's

First was a TM, then a ICS finally a Ares.

Love all my guns, only regret buying the ICS because it's the cansoft version.

Rugger_can April 17th, 2011 21:12

First was a TM Fullstock Ak47..

It was great, But I spent the same amount on it and 8 mags that I could spend today on a RS SVD.

Shit was expensive back then.

does the stuff at 007airsoft count as cansoft ?

Cansoft is a nickname for Canadian legal guns. It means they are half black and half clear receiver. Ken at 007 does sell cansoft but I think he also sells full black guns. Do yourself the favor and wait until you are 18. Get age verified, once that happens all the good stuff on ASC becomes available to you.

Desmodus April 17th, 2011 22:51

First gun was a CYMA AK74 (CM.031) mechbox sounded like crap and only used it for 2 games before selling it.

TM MP5K, Loved it.

thanks for the help!

p.s please guys continue with the stories of your first AEGs

SHaKaL April 17th, 2011 23:48

First was an ICS M4A1 carbine. Had it for 3 seasons without a problem except the motor that i had to change for an TM. Loved it to ;)

Now i have a We M4 gbbr that is untested as now... Can't wait to use it!

Slow April 17th, 2011 23:59

First AEG was a G&G MP5A5 and it was a lemon right out the box

Styrak April 18th, 2011 00:30

WELL MP5. It was a piece of shit that shot 230fps, but it got me through my first milsim!

Kos-Mos April 18th, 2011 04:08

TM AUG.

The gun was in so-so shape. I learnt how to fix guns on it. Was reliable as hell and ran it one year (about 10 games) on 11.1v LiPo. At that time, people where using NiCd and crap wall chargers, so a gun shooting 25bb/sec was considered a monster. That was 5 years ago.

Second was a TM P90.

Mags are a pain to get... especially with the fake bullets and no clone/other brand at the time. Gun was incredibly quiet. Easiest mechbox to work on by far (except for ICS' split).

Kennedy April 18th, 2011 10:18

First gun was an ICS M4, great gun. Only thing i didn't like about ti was that you couldn't put many after market parts in it. Other than that it was quite good.
Now i have an ARES M4 RIS 2, used it yesterday in a game for the first time and it's fair to say i was thoroughly impressed by it's performance.

m102404 April 18th, 2011 10:38

TM M4A1 (New Type). It worked great right out of the box. Played a season and a half before my second fall on it broke the receiver. Then the madness of metal bodies and upgrading stuff started in earnest. :)

Knowing what I know now....I honestly wouldn't start with one now. I'd start with a Classic Army or G&P....run the stock mechbox until it dies (which might be very quick)...then just buy a drop in G&P or King Arms complete mechbox. I'd buy the drop in mechbox right away, with an extra grip and motor....then practice shimming and fiddling with the internals.

I have 3-5 favourites now...each with their own charms. Not in priority order, because I really do like each of them for their own things:
1. SystemA PTW M4A1...this thing is a beast, shoots incredibly far/accurate, it is now reliable and a solid go to gun.
2. King Arms Galil SAR (carbine length)...it's a great/gorgeous build right out of the box, the "blow back" system is solid and long lasting, it's handy/pointy and is different from a lot of the other guns out on the field. Just too much fun not to use.
3. WE M4A1 GBBR...gas blow back rifle. Tons of fun and great action. Solid weapons manipulation and "replication" of the real thing. Perhaps not the most accurate or long distance shooting of the bunch....but again, too much fun not to use.
4. WE KAC PDW, short barrel...gas blow back personal defense weapon. Much like a cross between and M4 with the compact bolt system of the SCAR...it's a pointy, compact weapon that shoots just as long and far as my WE M4 (sort of :)). Folded stock...it's about as small as a MP5A3 (or any of the collapsible stock versions). As with the WE M4...it's just a fun, full of action platform to shoot.
5. Hurricane SHRIKE...basically a M4 AEG converted to a SAW/LMG. Honestly it's not much more than a regular M4 AEG...but heavier/bulkier. But you don't see many of them around...and it's not a common SAW like the 249 or Mk43 which everyone and their brother has. I've had a bitch of a time getting this to work decently...so it's more a labour of love than anything else at the moment. It's spitting plastic death as of last night....so all is right with the world once again. :)

Have fun.

Renegade) April 18th, 2011 10:55

ICS M4. When it worked, it was great... But this particular ICS was possessed by evil and it literally broke every game I fielded it. While that was a headache, it helped teach me how to take them apart and work on them, yes once you take a gun apart a million times to replace everything, you get to be pretty damn good at how to replace parts, and how to adjust pieces to get the best performance out of your gun.

Now I have a custom M4 that I built, tuned, adjusted, customized myself, and I wouldn't have any other gun. But I wouldn't have this one if it wasn't for my first.

Lesson here? Do alot of research and talk to people before you purchase, also remember you get what you paid for. In my case, I payed alot, some told me this brand was OK, some said avoid it. Do the same, and spend your money wisely, spend it the first time correctly, or you will be re buying before you should.

FACE April 18th, 2011 10:58

First gun was an ECHO 1 SCAR. Love it. Was a bit on the heavy side and a bit awkward at first but got used to it. Nice that it took the M4 mags. The mech box is a bit of a pain to take apart because of the ambidextrous mag release and fire selector.
Bought it used, upgraded the ho-up and that's it. Folding stock has a tendency to break, as well as the check riser.

Currently using a ICS M4 CQB sportline. Very nice. Easy to change out upper receivers. It's a Cansoft version but I don't mind.

Off-Kilter April 18th, 2011 13:00

My first AEG was a TM G36C, and it was a tank! Never had any problems with it in the 4 years I had it. It had a First Factory large handgaurd on it which made it front heavy, but with a 8.4V 3800 mAh battery in there, I had a great rof and my battery, never, ever, died on me. In the last year I had it (sold it last summer), I put in a systema spring (M120) and oiless metal bushings for some more power.

It was a great gun, very reliable. I haven't bought another an AEG since then (have to pay for school, car, girlfriend, life), the games that I did go to after I sold it I used rentals (Galaxy MP5K, hate that gun!). When I have the money to justify it, I want to pick up a Classic Army AUG A2.

kaiu April 18th, 2011 13:28

My first AEG was a full metal custom... DBoy's body with TM/Modify/G&P internals...

Worked great while I had it...

L473ncy April 18th, 2011 13:30

Used custom built AEG off the classifieds.

Ran awesome if you used the right BB's. Low quality BB's would just not feed and cause jams. I'm still on my first AEG but just haven't used it in a while though (since I'm out of country and doing the co-op portion of my degree starting in the fall semester).

IggysPiggy April 18th, 2011 14:05

First two aegs (bought at same time) was a cyma ak 47, and a wels g3 sas. The ak lasted for a year before i tore it open, the g3 has lasted 8 years with nothing done to it plus has a plastic gb and gears, only issue is a bagged spring.

Nowadays have multiple aks, m4, G3s. Anything mild too wild.

G_unit April 18th, 2011 15:01

Get whatever gun you like the most. Perhaps try to shoulder a few first to see which one is the most ergonomic for you to use. My first gun was a tm sig 552, really really regretted selling that gun.

Kyrativ April 18th, 2011 15:39

I just got a kwa m4a1 last season and have been using it since, got a lemon hop up but replace that mid winter and it's been shooting great since. Little on the heavy side though, looking to re wire it for a crane stock.

Wrath144 April 18th, 2011 16:02

My first AEG was a Kraken. Out of all the guns I've had in the last 3 years, which is quickly approaching 15, and out of all the guns I've worked on I recommend a KWA M4. The cansoft version won't break the bank, but its easy enough to find a full metal one if you want.

leth1337 April 18th, 2011 17:07

JG HK416. worked like a charm for 2 years, sold it and i think its still going

vondnik April 24th, 2011 13:26

a good old tm M4 that slowly over the course of 1 year when from stock to this monster:

http://www.pbase.com/vondnik/image/17056545.jpg

From there the list goes like:

tm based rpk
tm base dragunow
TM sig 550
tm sig 552 ( 2 of them)
tm tompsons ( 2 of them)
TM base m4 ( 8 of them )
Tm based g3a3

TM augs
tm famas
tops m60
tops m60e4
tops m249
VFC scar H
Tm hicapas 5.1 ( 3 of them)

and probably a few others that I'm forgetting about.

If your asking about the best in the lot I would say the RPK leads the pack (the damn things is over 10 years old with aroun 500k bbs down the pipe. I sold her 4 years ago only to buy it again a few weeks ago and she still kicksass the same old way)

5kull April 24th, 2011 13:48

ICS M4 Cansoft (Tinted lower). One of the few good M4's if your on a smaller budget or just want to get some experience before spending a lot of money. Worked flawlessly for two seasons, changed the piston and sold it, still going strong. Came with a charger and battery. Works great with Pmags. I'm thinking of buying a new one as a loaner.

KWA M4
Custom M4 Systema KingArms
Kingarms Thompson M1a1
Custom M4 CQB Magpull Systema

Ace of clubs April 29th, 2011 02:20

VFC HK 416.
Have had it for 3 years... only one so far, but I have used my friend's TM P90 which I find too light and his TM M14 which is fun, but was having a hop-up problem at the time.
I like my VFC, but it did have some problems: the battery that came w/it wasn't working properly; the single-shot cut-off lever needed shimming to work properly; set-up is kinda loud atm.

I really wouldn't recommend it as a first because it is pricy and you can def get better internals for less money. It looks nice and the functionning bolt catch is rather useful, but that leads to upgrade problems as the mechbox is weak and I've only recently found a reinforced one with the right parts (Yes, there are reinforced mechboxes that work w/ VFC's bolt catch)

Pictures to come eventually (need to get home this weekend and install my 'final' upgrade parts).

Hightimes April 29th, 2011 02:40

Lost my virginity to Tokyo Marui MP5 RAS about 10 years ago, than G&P MK18 Mod O wanted me badly and now I'm banging Ares/Star M14 EBR Standard too.

They all love me very much...
TM MP5-Jennifer is getting old.. retired at home
G&P M4-Jessica is still hot..
Ares/Star M14 EBR-Megan is the rare top quality A5 wagyu beef.. sexy and yummy

lol.......

P.S. they all have sisters.. Western Arms Bretta M9 perfect, TM Night Warrior 1911 and TM Python 357 6inch Revolver...

brixx May 20th, 2011 20:43

Mine was a KJW M4 gbbr the best gbb ever and still working. No regrets on buying cansoft version. 2ND is ICS cxp third is ICS RIS cansoft version all working. no regrets on my ICS's I tried a full metal dboys M4 a crappy gun pot metal.

Drunk_Albertan May 20th, 2011 21:57

First AEG was a G&P M4A1. Solid bodied gun with great internals. Put a tb in it and made it even better.

Then went AGM MP44 cause it's a cool gun and shot sooo hard. Now I'm on a SystemA PTW and I'll never look back.

Nik12 May 20th, 2011 22:25

First was an ICS MP5 SD2 from Ken over at 007. Summer '07 I think. It was alright, had feeding problems once and a while. Still have it, the only upgrades are external: sling, mount, aimpoint, ziptied flashlight.

Then I decided I needed a rifle, not a submachine gun, so I browsed around the classifieds. Ended up with a TM FAMAS SV + 8 mags + suppressor which cost me about 50% of what the MP5 cost me (moral is to buy from the classifieds where possible). Since then I've only upgraded the suppressor/flashhider to a QD system. Really just a beast of a gun, even though it's almost all plastic and all stock. Although many think it's ugly as sin, I have a soft spot for it On top of everything it fits a French Foreign Legion (Légion étrangère) impression.

TraumaGuy May 20th, 2011 22:36

AWESOME rig!

Sasha May 20th, 2011 22:42

Aftermath Kraken. It's performance was pretty good, I was able to outshoot lots of people with theoratically 'better' guns, but it was fuck ugly, and eventually it started to develope some odd feeding problems, although they weren't too hard to fix. I had it for 2.5 years before I sold it. AFAIK it still works, but the new owner's an idiot, so I doubt it will for long.

Favourite gun that I've owned is a Cyma AKS-74U, I've had it for a year and a half with no problems whatsoever, other than replacing the battery once.

Then I bought an Armalite and it's brought me no end of trouble...

Mitchell12 May 20th, 2011 22:44

My first AEG was a Tippmann AK-47... Yes Tippmann. Almost everything was plastic on it but a few parts of it actually live on in my current AEG. The outer barrel and.... umm 2 mags (surprisingly nice metal mid caps) .

Other than the outer barrel It's been entirely replaced (had a plastic mechbox). Morale of the story is to buy something good and not have to do what I did lol.

Kozzie May 20th, 2011 22:53

Mine was an ICS Sig 551. Bought it new 5 months ago, it's still stock. I've gamed it a couple dozen times now and have put 10k+ rounds through it with no issues. Solid gun and only 6 lbs it shoots quite straight and has a good ROF on a 9.6 stick. Mags are the only real issue with this gun as it takes proprietary mags which can be hard to find. Good news though is TM and MAG brand mags will work well with a quick and easy mod.

kullwarrior May 20th, 2011 23:13

First AEG, ARES G36k....only note I have...I hate the trigger response...miss by GBBR and PTW

iname May 20th, 2011 23:43

my first was a famas sv gun was solid never had any issues. pros was it was a bullpup ,cons were way to many including hard to find parts,
now i enjoy the company of my g36 variants. amazingly reliable.

jeremy1911 May 21st, 2011 00:04

My first real aeg is my king arms Sig 556 shorty blowback aeg. Hane yet to game it (first game is sunday for it) but first impressions are excellent other then the fact that it didn't come with a bettery and I had to get a custom made battery for it! Got about 16 mags for it (great thing is that it accepts m4 mags without any mods). Only upgrades were external, surefire M910 and a real steel Eotech 551 that I used overseas! We shall see how it does at the game on sunday!

Caninjap May 21st, 2011 23:10

My first is the G&G M4 CQB-R cansoft. painted it several times, and over time did minor upgrades. Never gave me trouble at all other than recently it had an oxidation problem in the trigger area.

over the course of a year:

a 4X scope which died within a few months
an Elcan 4X scope which I've been using since
a FAB magwell grip
a M130 spring
a mod stock

that's about it.

phloudernow May 22nd, 2011 00:28

First AEG - TM Sig 552
looked unique so i got it, however it was annoying getting upgrade parts for it and i played it stock for like a whole year playing like nearly 3 times a month.

ended up buying a TM M4A1 RIS that became a full metal troy m4 12Inch DMR lol

THen i bought a KA Troy M4 CQBA3 and on it went :)

EagleDriver May 22nd, 2011 10:02

My first gun that was electric was a Yonezawa Walther MPL - although it is really not an AEG because it is a gas/electric hybrid. I bought it while TDY at Kadena prior to Desert Shield. I don't use it at all (never did other than to test it) so it just sits in the collection.
http://www.baltimorecs.com/classics/Yonezawa/mpl-1.jpg

My first actual "AEG" was a Tokyo Marui MP5A4 Navy I bought in the mid-1990's, although the box labeled it as a "Navy" model due to the Navy style lower it is just a Tokyo Marui MP5A4. It has seen lots of use over the years and most recently was used by my friend's son who came out airsofting for the first time this spring.

dutch13 May 22nd, 2011 10:35

My first AEG was a TM MP5 RAS. Bought it from my bro about 6-7 years ago. I still have it and would never let it go. Moved on to a CA M4 which is now a Noveske M4. But now use multiple:
-A&K M60E4
-Custom MK18 Mod 0 Block 2 (primary)
-Noveske M4
-Cyma AK74SU
-Kraken AK47
-TM MP5 RAS
-Sig 226
And right now currently building a Navy EOD rifle.
But whatever gun you first buy never let her go....memories...haha

Gulag May 22nd, 2011 10:58

My first AEG was TM AK47. And frankly, it was that much of a win. Fixed stock and long magazine can suck. But I still love it.

ph0s May 22nd, 2011 12:50

i just bought my first a AKS74U from 007airsoft a month ago dont really know if its reliable but it is sexy  but its too strong for games 430 fps

Raskas May 23rd, 2011 15:33

SRC AK47, Gen III.

Solid internals, had to get a weaker spring put in to play indoors, but it's a decent outdoor gun right out of the box...

...except for the plastic lower that's already starting to crack in certain points, and almost all the metal is rusted after just 2 outdoor games.

Got an ICS AKS-74u used a couple weeks ago, FPS doesn't seem too consistent, and it's shooting about 455 FPS so it'll need a bit of work before it's game-able, but good god it's a beast. Full metal, folding stock, and the shape of the flash hider makes such a satisfying pop sound every time it fires.

I'd highly recommend the ICS, but if you're on a budget, don't mind swapping a plastic lower for metal, and like your AKs looking a bit older, the SRC has solid enough Internals to see you through.

Gemme May 24th, 2011 02:16

My first AEG I really used VFC SCAR-L

And this is the best AEG I've had, precise shot, long shot, very reliable ... The only problems I had with it the wire in the stock that were cut. But it is a problem that all the VFC SCAR have.

I recommend it to anyone!

chico May 24th, 2011 17:38

my first aeg was the gr16 carbine from g&g awesome gun and still running it 3 years later

tygr701 May 24th, 2011 18:12

My first AEG was and still is the Classic Army M15a4 tactical carbine licensed by Armalite. Has never given me any problems. It's been very reliable out of the box. I would highly recommend it.

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/...1300544041.jpg

Sinder June 4th, 2011 12:33

My first AEG is the classic army G36c and I love the damn thing. I was looking for an M4a but they didn't have any in stock. I came across the G36C for about the same price and went with that. I would highly suggest getting a TM or CA gun for your first airsoft. I haven't had any problems with it as of yet. Something I really like about the G36C is that not everyone on the field has one. Almost every time I see someone with an airsoft gun it's a M4a, m16 or the AK47. It's good to have something you don't see everyday and still works extremely well.

PS. Just be carefully when buying a new airsoft gun. Mine DID NOT come with a battery or charger. Read the box or talk to the sales staff before buying to make sure you get everything you need (BB's, Batteries, charger, quick loader ect ect)

TacWolf June 4th, 2011 12:54

Clearsoft Colt M4 On Duty Kit.
For what it was, I would say it was actually pretty decent, it did the job back then.
(I painted the black parts btw, with acrylic paint.)

AJ457 June 4th, 2011 22:43

My first AEG was the Aftermath MP5. Solid stock which I love on MP5s and it was shooting pretty good out of the box. Despite what most people say, pretty damn accurate as well. Been going strong with it for a little over six months and I play with a few friends at his farm every week.

Olisharpeye June 4th, 2011 23:59

First Gun I've personally purchased, *Used others before lent from my older brother* Well L96 Warrior, well it shot alright, I wouldn't recommend hitting a human size target further than 125 feet. That it being stock. I just love cocking the thing. And that it did it's job well. Hop up rubber sucks and breaks after the first couple hundred shots. As well my cheek rest broke, no idea how that happened but just cheap plastic parts in general :P Still love the thing, but I wouldn't recommend this. Unless you like a project gun, which I do.

Second Gun, G&G M4 CQB Rec. Lower end of the G&G Series, Still use it to this day. Only issues after about 4000 rounds was the plastic receiver cracked and the shimming job had to be readjusted. Replaced the receiver with a G&P Metal Body, Mad bull Tight Bore Barrel and guarder hop up unit. For the price I paid I'm very happy what this thing can do. Still going strong 10,000 rounds later.

Third Gun, KJW M4 GBBR, It's mean, It's lean, It's my propane hogging machine. By far of any gun I've ever felt or held this thing packs the biggest punch. Love it, Love IT, LOVE IT! Only issue is the hop up unit. Very finicky! With a stock hop up with no modifications you be lucky to hop up .2 gram bb's :P But with a TDC Hop up mod and tighter inner barrel I've read they can shoot as straight and as far as some high end aeg and sniper platforms. Or as well the stock piston cup, gets mashed up after the first few hundred shots. Get Cradle replacement parts! T_Hum Arnies Airsoft. Travis is the man to talk to about all your KJW M4 Needs!

G&G GR16 Carbine.....worked good until the piston head broke...and the lower started cracking...:rocket:

Wantabe_Warrior June 5th, 2011 13:21

My first and only AEG is a SRC HK416, the piston conk'ed out in less then 50 shots (misaligned gears). Gunwisewarrior, my local gunsmith, suggested I get a new gear box, so I now have King Arms one. I'm also on my third mag release, looking at a fourth.

THe_Silencer June 5th, 2011 16:04

My first AEG was a JG G36C I got off of Craiglist for $300 over 2 years ago. Never had any issues with it and did some mild upgrades to the internals, practicing my gundoc trade. Great gun and its current owner still has no issues with it.

Dart June 6th, 2011 03:27

First was a tm ak47. Loved it. Did some basic upgrades. Sold it it's still in the team

Had a fa mas at the same time. Tm. Wasn't bad but creeky

Tm p90. Love it. Still have it

We scar. Piece of crap. Got rid of it. Always leaking or breaking.

TSd vsr. Not bad but too common for me.

Ares ppsh 41. Loved it but got bored of 2000 rounds of spray

Kwc desert eagle. Big and clunky. Broke lots

We dragon. Finicky and broke lots.

Area dsr-1. Love it. Accurate and godly. Version two so none of the first version issues.

Hfc Mac 11. Not bad. Wicked rate of fire. Mags are too long.

Umm I think that's it. The ak was always the most reliable. Start there.

Btw This is my third season. I get bored of guns quickly.

Jayne Finch June 6th, 2011 05:29

TM AK Beta spetz. fantastic gun. got it used. been with me for like 4 years now. still works fantastic completely stock. been trying to kill it actually. been using it as a loaner and put a lipo in it. damn thing just wont die. (looking for an excuse to buy new internals. lol.) once i can kill it it will become something ridiculous.

since then:
(not in order)
TM G36C
2 krackens
Well mp5 pdw/k
m16 taci-crap. JG i think. (became an SPR)
m16 A2 (built from spare parts i acquired)
DE UMP
TM Famas
Cyma ak74u

plus pistols. lol.

oddly enough i still dont have an M4 even though ive wanted one for a while....meh. eventually.

Dart June 6th, 2011 16:07

I seriously dont see the appeal of an m4. They are like tampons. Every pussy has one :p. So boring and common.

qft... which is why my AK went to a team mate. don't get me wrong they are great starter guns....

personally I would prefer the AK over the m4 for a starter, all that shit you add to a m4 is just show in airsoft. I've seen people spend more on Tacticool accessories than the gun was worth. Not where noobies should be starting...

IMHO
Safety pieces first off, you can never spend enough on these items
A good starter gun, you will probably get rid of it soon, but its like your first girlfriend. You didn't really know what to do... you probably put some things in the wrong way once our twice. But you learnt, sent her to someone else, and now you have something pretty and uncommon that you're not going to bung up.
If you are in the bush get some cheap camo so you don't stick out.

Everything else after this is gravy. Unless you're using a DMR, or a sniper rifle optics really... really... really don't matter much. In fact I would bet 80% of players just "walk the rounds" onto the target.

man I am in a grumpy mood today.

interchangeability. if i have an M4 like everyone else on the team and run out of ammo i can yell "MAG!" and anyone can throw me a mag and get me back in the fight. kinda hard if im using a diff weapon system than them.

dont get me wrong. im not the biggest fan of the M series rifles. thus my odd collection including 3 AK's but it helps when you play bigger games if your unit has the same weapons system and you can do those things. besides. i dont like a whole lot of tacicrap on my gun so she'll be pretty lean as far as add-ons.

My first was a Classic Army Sportline P90. It was nothing short of crap. Glad I sold it, it externally looked really nice and I had bought a bunch of the Marui mags with visible dummy bullets...but honestly the gearbox was horrible and unreliable, as was the plastic hop-up and blue-tinted shitty inner barrel. I really don't recommend ANY sportline model; especially for newbies, they are made of cheeeaap materials. In fact this gun was so shit it almost turned me right off airsoft by thinking all airsoft guns were that shit. Not to mention that Classic Army's Sportline models are expensive for what you get..so I didn't cheap out, but I still got screwed.

Short Round June 9th, 2011 17:10

I thought it was a known fact all ca sportline are horrid....

mills0 June 9th, 2011 20:16

JG G36 - liked it but sold it for an M4
CA M4 Sports line - shockingly never failed me until i fucked up on a body swap, sold
JG M4 - bought got bored with sold.
Kraken AK - Never failed, loved it. miss it.
CMYA M14 - LOVED it, started to fall apart externally and needed something smaller
Lychone MP5 - still works still have it, great in a PDW role as a driver
CA SCAR L - traded it for a TM AUG. miss it to.
TM Aug - traded it for an "TM AK"
"TM AK" - Don't want to talk about it...
CA XM177 E2 - my baby...
TM G3 - nice but to long, sold
TM M4 SOPMOD - nice but bored with it
TM M3 Shortie - Shotgun = Sexy

All since 2008... I go through way to many guns.. and thats just the primaries..

Word of advice... Don't cheap out!

I heard the new CA sportlines ( like the LWRC M6) were actually quite good, comparable to the 08 prolines.

better than shit-tastic can still be shit.

Adikus June 10th, 2011 09:19

First aeg was some cheap brand completely tinted XM8 - complete piece of crap and didn't last much more then a month... warranty got me another one which was equally as garbage.
Then I bought a CA G36C and it's lasted for at least 4 years with very minimal issues, still have it.
Also bought a TM P90 which has also been good. Only thing I had to do with it is replace the tappet plate when it broke. Also owned for several years.

carllehot June 12th, 2011 11:02

My first AEG is a SRC HK416 GENII I buy it used (was a display gun at a paintball shop) was a mistake to buy it because I was like you... didnt know what to buy, I buy it because I like it ! I never game with it, but try it at my work shop and shoot like hell, but when I start having some problem it was hell to open that gun ! Now i'm buying a new baby ! :)
