Made quickly from pine with a plan that was sketchy at best. It's not my best woodwork but it does the job. I did promess myself though that i'll make another one with a revised plan and made with hard wood. Blueprint can be found here |
That's pretty slick, I'm going to have to try making one of those.
Did that lazy cat help any? ;) |
Nope! All me :D
|
You sir are a wood genius!
|
Oh cool. I'm gonna make one of them for my rentals :)

Very nice, I've been looking at all kinds of portable gun racks. This is the only one that folds up so nice!

what type of hardwood did you use?
|
I didn't use hardwood on this one (prototype) I used ½ inch pine. I'm thinking of using maple, oak or birch on the final product.

Nice!:p;)

The pegboard floor stand
For those of you who want to display your guns but don't have a free wall or can't go screwing pegboards to the wall.
I did this for Eeyore to bring at TAC12 to display some guns there. https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...673.JPG?psid=1 https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...674.JPG?psid=1 Pretty basic project and fairly easy to do. just need some MDF and a precut sheet of pegboard (This one is a 2'x4' sheet from Home Depot) some screws and you're set. I did a frame to stiffen the peg board and did some feet. It's inclined at 10 degrees and 15inches long feet. So the footprint is relativly small at 15"x24". |
Gear stand
Another project done!
A place to hang your vest and helmet is a good thing to have. Not everybody has the space in a closet and leaving it on the floor in a corner of the room is, in my humble opinion, a little "gauche". here's a little stand that has been asked to be made. https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...842.JPG?psid=1 https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...840.JPG?psid=1 https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...839.JPG?psid=1 All pine. Main post is built with 4 1"x3" planks glued and nailed together to form a post. Feet are made with 2"x4" sections bolted to the main post. Arms are a solid piece of 2"x3" that goes through the main post. Everything wrapped in 2 coats of Sequioa stain/varnish to give it that classy look. And voilÃ*!! Never again will that poor vest suffer in corner of the room under a pile of stuff. |
Ahem,
How much? :P |
nice work i think i still like the first one with the case design the best. you should make it a little deeper with some foam inserts for a rifle or two, a gun case and stand in one would be awesome if it wasnt too heavy
|
Rifle stands
And another easy little project I've done in my free time that anyone can do.
Rifle stands https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...676.JPG?psid=1 https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...678.JPG?psid=1 https://public.bay.livefilestore.com...830.JPG?psid=1 Trace a mag shape on some MDF board, reverse the angle at the bottom, screw and glue to a base, paint and voilÃ*!! Useful display stand for your rifle. |

Yes, it'll be heavier, but having everything in one box is space saving. |
