wut? WGCShop changes shipping method last minute?
 

long story short:

-ordered a VFC product
-upon check out, WGC quoted I have to use the HK shipping instead of Taiwan EMS (even though VFC is from Taiwan)
-I pay for the item and shipping from HK
-after they finished packaging, they send another email to notify that the shipping method has been "upgraded" for free to UPS*
-they haven't shipped the item yet, at least it's not been updated
-???

edit: for clarification, the shipping method that they "upgraded" to is UPS Saver (HK)

WGC Shipping process is always slow as molasses, I've had items come in from DX.com faster lol.

Questions I have are why would a Hong Kong company have Taiwanese EMS shipping if they are shipping from Hong Kong. Unless of course they are shipping direct from VFC to you.

Perhaps they found it's cheaper to ship Courier vrs Express post on their end.

UPS is going to make you buy them a gun in brokerage fees and other bullshit tho. You just got FUCKED.

eHobby just did the same thing to me, they argue that the UPS service is great and that they never have custom problems, but I'm currently teaching them about hidden fees and the massive scam private carriers are running in Canada. I warned them that I will likely not be able to "afford" the hidden fees and scam and that the package will get back to them. Anyway, in the end, it will be a *lot* cheaper to pay for airmail again than pay the UPS scam. Hopefully they will learn something, and if I'm lucky, not have to pay for shipping twice. :\

If you want your product, and want it fast, UPS delivers fast.

RWA shipped me an order Friday, and it arrived by Wednesday the next week.

UPS shipping was quoted $20, and the "adjusted declared" amount was around $40, still ended up paying $10-20 bucks for their lame fees.

I think some products would have to be shipped directly from VFC but apparently the VFC item I have is special order and wasn't available in TW.

I've had a gun come in from a diff retailer and it was shipped with EMS.

on the WGC invoice I let them know to quote 70% of item price. that's still over $200 cad which might be used by UPS to set a brokerage fee

I don't think they ship ups standard. they ship ups super saver, which includes your brokerage fees.

yea it's UPS something saver in the title. well the current order status is still "packaging" so hopefully the next working day they will be able to respond before it is shipped.

super saver has brokerage fee included. You don't need to worry. You might have to pay hst when it arrives, but it IS cheaper than EMS when shipping really large things.

They won't refund you the difference anyways.

if they proceed with UPS Saver then I'd really have no choice but to cancel/refund the order and find another retailer. or if it's already shipped then I'd bring it up with PayPal. and it's linked with AMEX so I'm guessing I'm protected with extra costs.

Did you ONLY make an ASC account to complain and make posts about your "terrible situations" or something?

Also you seems to think it matters where the product was made? Why would that matter at all? All their products come from their own warehouse. Do you think then if they sold a Canadian product it would be sent from Canada?

Need help WCGshop shipping to Ottawa
 

Hi All - I?m New to the site and I need some guidance for the order I placed today morning for BCM MCMR VFC from the WCGshop website and I totally worried customs may block my delivery due to the airsoft Canadian law for this gun which does not shoot above 366 FPS wondering if you had any such scenario or issues with this site or for items being delivered to Ottawa Canada please advise what?s the best next step and thanks in advance.

My philosophizing....pay and pray and always PreCheck, pretest all airsoft purchases whenever possible, some local retailers have been know to sell NIB guns with deans connectors and labels half rubbed off from sweaty palms

Seriously though, effective communication skills and patience is a virtue and most overseas retailers are excellent in terms of quotes, adjusting orders, notifying of out of stock items and processing refunds and in my experience have almost always gone out of their way to make the experience a pleasant one
