Mk 48 Mod 0 Airsoft?

Well, Just saw it on TV, it's one hell of a sexy gun.

Can't find any Airsoft version of it, do anyone know? Or any other LMG that is just as sexy?

The Mk.46 series was release by G&P. Supposedly, Hero-arms was going to develop Mk.48 but doesn't seem like it due to fact they haven't even release their Mk.46 yet.

Man, The G&P MK 46 sure looks good.

Well, I was just looking for something 7.62mm but oh well :<

star produces a mk 46 as well, I was wondering who would comment on future weapons

Skladfin September 12th, 2007 18:38

It's cool show ya

dodger_me September 12th, 2007 18:52

i was watching that too and thinking to my self "how can we mod a 46 to a 48" And by the looks of it they are the same other then the barrel length. so if someone was to find the longer barrel

To make it exact its quite impossible unless you do a lot work. Heavy Barrel Mk48 style, removing mag adaptation for M16 mags belt fed only, Mk48 full buttstock style and Mk.48 front sight. This also applies to the Mk.46.

I did do Custom Mk.46 although its not exact, but close enough until recently that G&P did pre-build ones. Base model I used was TOP.

Cheap-ish 7.62mm machine guns are made by STAR. Not plastic like their M249's but aluminum. Trying to get my hands on the M60E4 through A&A but he hasn't responded to my email.

That's only M60 type i'll ever get, the Mk43 :D

Skladfin September 12th, 2007 21:05

$784 USD for the G&P Mk46 full stock... + Another $40 for the battery and another $20 for the foregrip...

That's easily $2000 CDN with all things here....*Starts Crying*

LUTNIT September 12th, 2007 21:21

STAR Mk. 43 + battery should be around CSN$1200-1300. As far as I have read the STAR polycarb mechbox is stronger than a ver.2 mechbox (G&P LMG's), its aluminum instead of plastic or potmetal (as light as plastic but metal, reviews say ~1/2 the weight of a CA249 but actually has more metal), and is cheaper.

Skladfin September 12th, 2007 22:01

Man, still it's pretty expensive.

I'd still invest in a G&P though, not going to use 12V, maybe just 9.6 or 8.4.

But still.. damn... expensive stuff.

Well, A publicly showing dummy rounds would be nice but the mag on Mk43 kinda covers it which turns me off.

LUTNIT September 12th, 2007 23:56

You could cut the cover on the box mag down, you shouldn't let that effect your judgment. Also I wouldn't recommend running any gun on a 12V battery unless it was designed for it (ex. SystemA PTW.)

I've read some reviews about the G&P LMG's and they are supposedly incredibly nice, just remember to get the mechbox reshimmed before using it unless you want to buy a new set of gears too.

One more thing Skladfin, remember to practice some weight training for those arms! lol

Skladfin September 13th, 2007 02:01

Haha!

Ya, What's it? 13~15lbs? That's insane, I'm glad there's the bipod and the foregrip.

Mine is pretty heavy, I carry around in Milsim for about 12 hours and during the first 2 hours I was sling it around my body climbing big hills, walking in snow and avoiding deadly tree branches lol. The worst part is that I got stuck in 3.5 feet of snow with my M249, that's where the buddy system works the best :P

Me: Ah guys? Little help here?

All of them laughed, pfft recon mission my ass lol

Skladfin September 13th, 2007 21:32

lol that's hilarious. Hope fully I wouldn't have to do that =)
