I will answer, if you don't mind

the black one is a classic army Military version (fluted barrel) and the other one looks like a KJW M700

where did you get it?

Mr Jon May 18th, 2008 00:46

A&A Surplus when they used to carry guns, it set me back about $1250.00 but it was worth every dime lol. I havent gamed with it once since I bought it in October

Xenos-Fear May 18th, 2008 00:50

Its a tasco 6-24x50 scope but its been replaced by a M3 leupold scope (replica of course)

FOX_111 May 18th, 2008 00:52

Super sexy. I like this model. If I ever buy a new sniper rifle, I'll buy one like this.

Tanx for the comments guys. My cadpat M24 was painted by Marksmann. I bought the whole rifle off him a few years ago. He's really good at painting rifle. Even the screws on the stock are painted cadpat.... I would have cheaped on those for sure! You can see the parts I added: bipot and scope covers. They are painted plain OD (faded from use...)

The M700 will be painted soon.

The ghillies suit for the M24 was not optimal, but it did a gread job. I say was, because I no longer use it as it was to entangling. I'll make a new one this summer.

Mr Jon May 18th, 2008 00:53

In Shooter Mark Walberg used a CheyTac M200 Intervention, my rifle is made by Star Airsoft, but it sure as hell looks real.

Second Prize goes to SEALs with his M24.

Third Prize goes to Fox with his M24

I'd sell my M700 in a heart beat to get one.

Mr.Planters May 18th, 2008 12:47

good looking rifle

yeah, I'd be willing to pay about 1500$ for the star, only question, where can I get one.

and like fox said, what kind of upgrades does it take?

ThunderCougarFalconBird May 18th, 2008 14:49

I needs muh scope for it, and possibly a bipod.

jesster202 May 18th, 2008 14:55

i aswell got a spr too thunder nice gun i will post pictures once im home but yeah it needs a bipod their not a sniper with out it lol but what scope you thinking im still not chosen one yet atm

Mr Jon May 18th, 2008 16:30

Lets just say you dont need upgrades for this STAR. It comes with a percision tightbore and it fires over 550-600+ on a hot day and is super accurate out of the box. I believe it takes AEG barrels and hop buckings if im not mistaken. It appears to be an original design by Star. You can however purchase a highflow valve for it apparently, I have one on order. But the downside is the lack of parts availability and you STILL cant get extra gas magazines for it.

The cheekweld is made of copper pipe insulation as weird as that might sound. However the foam has the right density for a cheek raise as well as enough cushion for your face to rest on.

Yeah I thought it might be that.... Is it hockey tape you used? I really like the idea, I'll apply it to my GR-25.

Godlyspartan May 19th, 2008 17:21

Its has MPH tape under with electrical tape over it. Hockey tape would absorb the paint and make it difficult for paint wear and get sticky after long periods of use.

Shrapnel[Op-For] May 19th, 2008 19:40

two questions for you canadianstalker.. What is that little fabric band around the gun right underneath the front end of the scope that you, and fox have on your guns? And where do you get your ghille material for you gun?

FOX_111 May 19th, 2008 20:11

The band is a velcro strap to secure the mag in the magweld. It help reduce missfeeds.

The ghillie material is just jute strand attached to a net. Jute is either died or painted. I painted mine.

CDN_Stalker May 19th, 2008 21:19

I put that strap on Fox's gun when I reinforced it two years ago. Gun misfreds because the nozzle that is supposed to strip off the top BB ends up pushing the entire mag down (design flaw) and your next shot is equal to an "airsoft vasectomy".

My rifle ghillie is real saltwater fishing net (Michael's Craft Store), strips of cadpat, jute(gardening twine already dyed green), burlap, some multicam, and OD laundry bag mesh.

Ya, I recognize the sniper rifle in the middle, the one you custom made and sold to him; the same one I was trying to help him with by handing him allen keys to sort out the Metal Tech BBs jammed in the barrel when we were all chronying.

So is the saltwater fishing net holding the stuff on the gun?

CDN_Stalker May 19th, 2008 23:39

Ya, I just made a 'sock' wrap that I tied together (excess netting from my ghillies) and just tied everything onto it. Shoo Goo the same netting (BTW, 5' x 7' size is $14) onto BDUs and make the ghillie for your body.

FOX_111 May 21st, 2008 21:17

Nice. I like the paint pattern. It's not Gucci, but it's effective like it's supposed to be.

Ghillie973 May 21st, 2008 22:12

It's actually a tan base than I used a strip of burlap to stencil on the green. You can't see it in the pic but it looks like tan burlap painted onto it. It was still too smooth so I just spray painted burlap and wrapped it around the rifle. Ghillie wraps are nice but I find they get caught up on too much stuff.

FOX_111 May 21st, 2008 23:31

Indeed. That's why I don't use my rifle ghillie anymore. It got a lot of dirt and jute crap in my rifle. After every game, I had to dismantle the rifle to remove all that crap.

I take mine apart every 6 months to lube and tweak it. Anyone ever seen me without my rifle on my back? :D I get little fibers here and there inside the trigger assembly and on the cylinder, but it doesn't affect anything internally. Maybe my clean cylinder is because I use dry graphite/teflon lube on the surface of it, doesn't attract crap.

If hes running the M170 in it, around 550fps-600fps.

Screamer- May 22nd, 2008 19:02

you only bought the body and you build on it ... wow :D

Marksman May 22nd, 2008 19:12

yep its an AEG and just like '' Happy_Killmore '' said it should shoot around 550 to 600fps with 0.20g but I will use 0.43g for this one

The Hurricane kit only include the body, barrel, .50 mag, bi-pod, carry handle, tools, manual, etc and it come in a nice foam case

I don't know my spring chart...

600fps (0.20g) using .36g (447fps) give you a very nice engagement range. If the field allow for 100 feets of minimum engagement distance.

It really put the role of sniper into perspective!

CDN_Stalker May 22nd, 2008 19:18

550fps with 0.20g will be 450fps using 0.36g BBs (in my M24 with Laylax 170 spring). In all guns I've tested various weights in, there is a 100fps difference between 0.20g and 0.36g BBs. Pretty easy rule of thumb right there, gives you a ballpark velocity if you are using 0.28g (divide by half, ~50fps difference between 0.20g and 0.28g).

Screamer- May 22nd, 2008 19:19

don,t forgot with this FPS... probably the HOp up will be damage in a low laps of time

Only need to install a hard rubber in the hop up. Even at 500fps and using my M24 every game (plus lots of testing and target shooting at home), I only had to replace my Guarder clear rubber every 6 months. Since I switched to harder rubbers, I haven't had to replace yet except for different rubber set testing.

Still, you bring up a very good point, hop up rubber choice is paramount to any sniper rifle upgrade. Currently I'm using the KN RH65 rubber in my rifle and it's working well. Avoid any rubber made of silicon, it'll not perform overly well.

Still, you bring up a very good point, hop up rubber choice is paramount to any sniper rifle upgrade. Currently I'm using the KN RH65 rubber in my rifle and it's working well. Avoid any rubber made of silicon, it'll not perform overly well.

Will a heavier BB significantly reduce the impact load on the piston head when using a hot spring? Just wondering if heavier rounds will also have the added benefit of increasing the longevity of the internals.

Sounds like yo uare thinking too much into things, more than you should even get into the area of worrying about. Heavier BBs will move slower down the barrel than lighter ones, and will allow the air behind the BB to compress more, which would reduce the impact of the piston/head. Same as you hear in AEGs when trying different weights of BBs, the heavier you go, the duller the sound the pistonhead makes. Lighter makes a tick, tick, tick sound, heavier makes a dull tock, tock, tock sound.

So, in my mind, yes, heavier can increase longevity due to the compressability of the air behind the heavier BB.

Good stuff. Shitty I found out after you were at the Muskoka game, never got a chance to meet you (might have been near you through, depends on the team you were one and what social things we attended after).

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Don't think we ever bumped into eachother. Ah well, next game.

My old baby...

The new baby (TM VSR-10) is still a work in progress... I can't decide between a zero trigger or a V trigger though...
