AEG firing perfectly on semi auto, but has misfeeding problems on full auto
Hi, I recently got the SRC/ TSD Gen III hk 416... and it was working perfectly, on full and semi auto, but he hop up needed to be changed, because of the bad quality of the bucking... so I changed the hop up rubber, and it was shooting perfectly both on semi and full auto....
that was 5 days ago today I tried it again and the gun was shooting perfectly on semi auto, but on the full auto mode, it was shooting 2-4 bbs, then it was blank shooting... or event double and triple feeding... but when turned upside down, it shoots perfectly on full auto PS: the gun has internal upgrades, such as a 6.03 tighbore barrel, upgraded gearbox, metal hop up, 8mm ball bearing... PPS: hop up is set to off thx |
You have a magazine problem than..
|
so can i repair that or i have to buy new mags?

Try changing back to the other hop-up bucking and then shoot. If it's fine, than no need to buy new magazines.
If problem still exists, than it's the magazine. Borrow some of your buddies magazines first before buying new ones. It probably not be the magazine. Thing is if you always leave BBs in the magazine when not in use, the spring would not be strong enough to push and lose it's power. Might be your magazine lip. |
i always empty the mags after each use...., and what do you mean by the mag lip?
|
I don't think its the mag lip - I've seen that be a cause before, but based on your story, I don't think it could be that. If it were the magazine lip, I think you would have had trouble right off the bat.
I had to modify the mag lip in my King Arms M14 mids, because they didn't feed worth jack right out of the box. I recently worked on a SRC/TSD M16A3 that had some similar feeding issues and it turned out to be a crappy magazine. I think the rifle was about a month old. I've seen it before in several SRC-based rifles. SRC makes more-solid guns these days (compared to their past), but their magazines leave something to be desried. |
ok, then I'll have to buy new mags, but what brand, type should I buy, and are the mags from ebaybanned good?
|
Before you try new mags, try dropping a little bit of silicon oil into where the BBs go into the gun. Some AEGs need a little lubrication there to work properly.
|
nop it doesnt work... but also when i was shooting, i noticed that the motor was heating up after about 300 rounds....is that normal?
|
BTW the gun is only 2 weeks old
|
Are we talking 300 rounds straight on full auto? Yeah, that's normal. :|
So you've lubed the hopup intake, but have you tried lubing the magazine spring? This has been a fix to a number of star magazines in the past. |
nop it wont work, and the mag misfeeds more now, even on semi auto....
|
also now bbs just roll down the barrel....
|
Problems with the nozzle now, perhaps?
|
nop i've open the gun,
changed to the old hop up bucking = same problem.... new one = same thing cleaned the barrel & hop up gunfully= same thing BTW sorry for the misfeeding on semi auto...my batterie were just low... but ya I'll buy new mags now.... are the Dboys mags from ebaybaned good? |
ya its probably the magazine problem.

Avoid high cap magazines unless they're brand names like TM or CA. The most reliable feeding will usually come from real or low-cap, followed by midcaps. I personally use low and mids, and never had feed problems. The stock JG highcap I got with my 416 is horrible. Doesn't matter what gun I put it in, I have feed problems.
And in the end, you're better off with low and mid caps, because some games won't allow the use of high-cap. |
1. try it with midcaps. good midcaps. G&P at least.
2. I like how like... styrak suggest something perfectly logical and in response is ignored.. What exactly has been done in the gearbox? How experienced are you with internal work? do you know how to properly set your tappet plate and air nozzle with the cylinder? 3. on a completely unrelated note, some people have no business in those purposefully ripped jeans. just entirely unbecoming. really. damn. |
the gun is stock upgraded...I dont have the list, but if you search on google, you'll see (SRC HK416)
have you guys have had any experience with MAG brand magazines, like those... http://cgi.ebay.com/MAG-M4-M16-HK-Mi...742.m153.l1262 or are the King Arms brand better? http://cgi.ebay.com/King-Arms-M4-M16...QQcmdZViewItem |
SRC is Shite... I had an SRC M4 when i first got into airsoft (when i didnt know better), hell, even the SRC Mag it came with misfeed like a bitch. But it worked fine with every other mag. (untill all the parts started systematically breaking down)
my money is on ur shitty mags |
+1 it's the mag for sure, I have the same issue with a dboys ak74 hi-cap as well, the beginning of the mag when its fully wound nice and tight it will feed flawlessly, but by the time i have to wind it a 2nd time it starts to misfeed
|
I recently ordered midcap mags from ehobbyasia, just have to wait for them,
|
I only had problems with MAG midcaps.
Their real caps are ok, but still nowhere close to some Star. KA low caps are painfull in most guns, but in some other guns they work perfectly. |
