US NBC kit
 

ive bin wanting to do a US NBC set up with the M17 gas mask and hood deal, anyone know any places in the GTA i might be able to find some of the gear, also suggestions would be appreciated.

I did look for previouse stuff on here but either missed it or there isnt any.

First off, why the M17? Are you aiming for a specific impression or something (Vietnam, Desert Storm)? If you're looking at setting more of an NBC kit than just a gas mask, you'll have to also find the appropriate era-specific outfit: the old chocolate chip charcoal suits or rubber overalls for something around Desert Storm era, MOPP suit for something more recent (along with an M40)


Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have either M17s or M40s.

ok so now realizing i was absent minded writing this im gearing towards desert storm loadout with the NBC kit hence the M17 mask etc. but if i had to side with an M40 then i would. but my era timeframe is desert storm preferably.

M40s are current issue and "in demand" as the old M17s aren't considered as adequate against NBC threats by survivalist types. You can usually find M17s pretty cheap now (actually looking at Knivezs' link, they have some M17 kits complete with the hood and filter and pouch, for $40).

They have some charcoal suits there, too. Be prepared to hate your life if you wear that in summer, it's like a non-breathable ski suit haha. And don't wear it around the house unless you like having charcoal dust everywhere.

lol ya i remember that from my NBC training with my unit ill prob substitute the suit with something else so i dont kill myself in the summer. i was going for the M17's cuz of look etc not so much survivability if that was the case definatly the M40

If you plan to wear this to a game, best give lots of warning to the organizers to ensure they have the right equipment to medevac you out when you collapse from heat exhaustion.

Never mind the heat exhaustion, how about hyperventilation from doing intense physical activity while wearing said gas mask?

Haha Damn believe the two guys above me, On BMQ we couldn't even run around a fucking ARMOURY in our NBC suits :P

LOL ok ok guys ive done NBC training and had to run my ass around an armoury and biv site when we pissed the Wo off. i know thier death traps i just want it for setup looks NOT I REAPEAT NOT TO PLAY GAMES IN all i wanna do is create the loadout, i like collecting gear. and I definatly do know what its like to wear all the MOPP 4 stuff while having to do NBC Recce in 40+ weather im not stupid.

I haven't done NBC training but I have used an israeli M15 gas mask with the filter on at an indoor game. Bad idea.
NBC gear might be nice in -5 thought if it wasnt so heavy lol

If you're using the mask (if you can bring the lenses up to snuff, safety-wise) you might want to gut a filter canister so it allows air through unimpeded. Once again, usually contains charcoal and will create a glorious mess: don't do this near your wife's clean linens :P (I'm just sayin')

Hahaha seems that's a common reaction as on my BMQ we started to fill the mop bucket and got "YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD NUMB NUTS" screamed at us :P

I own an M-17A2,M-40,M-42 The best one out of the lot is the m-42 ,you can hook comms to it and it has tinted lens covers the cannister can be mounted to the mask or to the blower NBC pre -filter in modern armoured vehicals plus they have alot of look cool value !
