A&K M249 external parts compatibility?

I've got a nicely done A&K set up like a C9A1, but I'd like to get a new barrel and stock assembly to swap to a C9A2 setup (para barrel and C8 telescoping buttstock). Can I use a G&P stock and outer barrel? Or do I need to dig up Classic Army parts?

The A&K is a Classic Army clone. Some items--like putting a CA stock on the A&K, might take slight modification or be a tight fit.

While researching parts for mine, it seems the A&K/CA will take G&P stocks just fine (even though the G&P stocks aren't advertised as such). I also used a G&P (clone) RAS on my A&K, no problem.

I've read conflicting reports about the barrel however, the A&K and CA barrels are the same, but some people stated the G&P barrels fit and others stated they didn't (differences in construction).

All CA parts should fit fine on the A&K.

There also appears to be at least some TOP parts which will fit: some people have claimed the CA249 was itself mostly a copy of the TOP M249, except with a clone of the PGC aftermarket gearbox (which accepted regular v2/v3 parts) instead of the proprietary and more troublesome TOP one.

Hopefully someone with more experience on this can chime in (also curiously about the pistol grip).

An update to this, some further research on other forums does indeed agree that the G&P stocks will work, but the most solid thing I can find about the outer barrel is that a G&P one will work "With some Modification".

I'm not big on that, when you're talking a somewhat pricey part, so I think I'll just try to get my hands on an A&K/CA Para outer barrel... which is where my google-fu skills fail me, I can't seem to find a place that sells either...

I'm looking for an outer barrel for my CA249 too. I have used a blowtorch and vice on mine and the flash hider won't come off...so it's damaged now. (yes, I did it CCW like all my guns)

I can't google a CA249 outer barrel anywhere. Any luck?

I looked for one too... some Para ones here and there, but the full size barrel I only found at *coughfuckyoucough* Evike *coughfuckyoucough*

Ooooh, quick update about barrels. Go to Echo1's website, and e-mail them about a spare barrel. I got a Para barrel for my A&K, for $27... shipped...

I can confirm that the CA m249 is a copy of a TOP with a PGC Gearbox, even down to the HOP unit being a copy of the PGC unit..

MOST stocks for M249's are interchangable (solid stock) because of desperation i put a STAR solid stock (solid and retractable are compatible) on my M249, also, the G&P mk46 outer barrels i have seen _appear_ to be a correct fit, but i cannot confirm this.. also, i think i've seen the CA outer barrel (gas-parts forward section of the barrel) on evike.. (but it's full length)
