Programming Puxing Px-888

Just got the radio. I'm trying to program it, but the user guidebook is of little use.

I googled but they all rave about the programming cable, wich I did not buy. I was hoping of programming it on the fly.

Anyone can help? I think I'm getting old. New technologies are becomming more complicated as the time go. :D

Nope, I as well couldn't figure it out. Yannos told me its almost impossible without the cable.

Post #42 (I have an 888...I think the programming for the 777 was the same)

It's a literal step by step.

It's very simple actually. Takes me 5-10 min to program 14 FRS channels in.
If you follow the manual you'll have no problems. I have a PX-777 but it should be the same.

Oh, I get it. I was trying to enter the frequency in the wrong "page".
The manual is so unclear!

Thanks for the tips.

I just got mine in today too, I'm SO lost. It's like the manual is in Chinese or something =P

FOX_111 July 13th, 2011 22:03

There is an "english" part halfway in.

If you are looking at programming the frequency, use the procedure at page 11 and 13.

If you had the same problem than me, it's because you have to punch the frequencys when you reach the "page" where you see R 420.2525 T 420.2525 (frequencies are for example) with no logo or infos on the left side. If you try to enter the frequency elsewhere, it won't work. Follow the procedure in the manual and it will work.

Puxing 888 Programming HELP!

I just got my PuXing 888 and although I managed to program all my needed frequencies I still can not receive Police and Fire in my town or any other. My old analog scanner picks up all analog transmitions. I am waiting for ther programming cable and software any day now. My question is, is the PuXing 888 digital or analog? It is a VHF do I need a licence to use it and how/where do I get a licence? Would I need a UHF Transceiver instead? Is the PuXing 888 a scanner?? Thanks I think I'll need the PuXing 888K ?
