AWS Raptor motor stop before releasing the spring
Hey guys,
I just got my raptor unit and I decided to install it in my VFC scar. I got a problem, my motor stop just before releasing the spring, no current is going through. So my guess is that the cutoff lever dont press long enough on the switch. Are there others possibilities ? How can I fix that ? I just want to be sure before trying to fix it. thanks |
yes, every mode, with and without active braking.
I'm currently trying to glue some piece of platic to the cutoff lever, to increase the length, we will see if it works... |
Do you have trouble keeping the spring in place?
|
well, it did pop out one time, but I gave it time to break-in and its fine now.
|
So its not a timing problem, the full auto and burst mode would not act like that...
Edit: sry for double post :( |
Just to make sure. you are firing the required rounds in semi after connecting a battery? Will it not even complete those?
|
the only thing that i can think of is either the cut out of the selector plate wasn't done right, or the little selector plate switch is broken.
does it act like it's burst firing on auto or semi? also make absolutely sure that the trigger wont contact the trigger switch body when a full of the trigger is done. i had to glue on a metal shim of aluminum to the back spine of my trigger. it may seem that the switch can take it, but all it takes to snap it off the board is a fast good squeeze of the trigger. |
Dynamo, What glue did you use to glue on the spacer? The manual I received with mine had a warning about checking the trigger travel length.
|
Just to recap,
I plug the battery, program the unit, try to shoot in any fire mode, the motor compress the spring till 90%-95% but stop there, without trying to compress more. theres no heat on battery or motor. My trigger is ok |

have you tried running the gearbox with out the piston and spring to see if it might be an issue with the cutoff switch? this is what sucks about working with these electric guns, gotta go step by step and eliminate possible issues. also make sure to check for any possible shorts. i had to completely redo all the wiring on my switch. i had arching going on inside my gearbox that was messing up the firing cycle. working like a charm now. I fixed it yesterday, it was a short.
But now my burst mode is more like 6 - 7 rounds than 3. I guess that would be the cutoff lever. |

Hello Gents,
I didnt want to start a new topic, so I am adding to this discussion. I have installed the Raptor and have checked the trigger travel length (good), I have checked that the cut off is fully engaging (good) and have also checked to make certain the selector plate is contacting the unit fully and that the section that was cut out was far enough (good). But for some reason I only get safe-semi-semi.. Other than that it is working great.. Any ideas on what I can be missing?! Does the selector plate spring need to break in for a while?! |
Check that you removed enough material from the selector plate or that you didn't remove too much.

I just finished installing the Raptor over the Holidays and I'm super impressed with it already even before having gamed it.. Hope you figure out your issue. |
