I was researching plans for a gun stand, when I came upon this on the interweb.

Made quickly from pine with a plan that was sketchy at best.

It's not my best woodwork but it does the job. I did promess myself though that i'll make another one with a revised plan and made with hard wood.

Blueprint can be found here

That's pretty slick, I'm going to have to try making one of those.

Did that lazy cat help any? ;)

I'd like to say It's my idea, but I found the plans on the internet.

Very nice, I've been looking at all kinds of portable gun racks. This is the only one that folds up so nice!

A kid made this in wood shop, it wasn't very sturdy hardwood is a must.

Depends on the tolerences you allow. I've built it quite tight and sure it has a minimal wobble (just like anything foldable), but if you look at what I got on it on the pictures, I'd say it hold pretty well and does the job it's designed to do.

akko January 30th, 2012 20:47

what type of hardwood did you use?

Deadpool January 30th, 2012 21:17

I didn't use hardwood on this one (prototype) I used ½ inch pine. I'm thinking of using maple, oak or birch on the final product.

The pegboard floor stand

For those of you who want to display your guns but don't have a free wall or can't go screwing pegboards to the wall.

I did this for Eeyore to bring at TAC12 to display some guns there.

Pretty basic project and fairly easy to do.

just need some MDF and a precut sheet of pegboard (This one is a 2'x4' sheet from Home Depot) some screws and you're set.

I did a frame to stiffen the peg board and did some feet.

It's inclined at 10 degrees and 15inches long feet.

So the footprint is relativly small at 15"x24".
