Who makes the most reliable LMG?
It is my understanding that LMG internals wear faster than any other gun due to the high rate of fire and huge amount of ammo they go through in a typical game.
My question is which LMG's have the toughest/most reliable internals? Second newb question is this list below a correct ranking for evaluating an LMG? 1. reliable 2. light 3. range and accuracy |
The best LMG i have ever owned, and still own it, is the G&P Stoner Mk23. That thing is a beast, great rate of fire, shoots like laser and feeds all the time.

2. light
this doesnt really go along with LMG's they are all prety heafty the "L" in LMG is compared to vehicle and bunker mounted type machine guns. beter build yer arms up a bit most LMG's are quite a workout lol |
Best ive owned and ive owned alot is the G&P 249 para.
|
you won't find anything that covers all 3 of those criteria stock.
Maybe the 2nd one, but not reliable or accurate lol Fully upgraded G&P MK23 would do it. Although the feed mechanism is completely retarded, it's a V2 marui spec mechbox, and its only slightly heavier than an M4 But when your balls finally descend and you want a MAN's LMG, the G&P 249 is the best out there bar none. Nobody else even comes close. marui spec V2 mechbox (CA is NOT 100% marui spec.), and it being a V2 allows you to drop in a polarstar kit, it's got an AUG hop chamber which is vastly superior to the shitty CA design hop chamber, the box mag feeding mechanism is of better design and far more reliable, and best of all it's made of STEEL. Like actual iron rich STEEL that RUSTS. It's built like a tank, and it's also the only M249 that matches real steel weight at just over 8kg |
The answer to this question as it pertains to the gearbox at least is "you do".
Stock LMGs are set up to be much much lower RoF and power than most "tricked out" crazyballs guns built by gun doctors and experimenters, of which there are hundreds of examples out there firing bag after bag after bag at 35 to 40 rps. If I picked up G&P's Stoner, I would still go in there and do all the usual things to extend its wear time: AoE, strong piston, sorbothane, swap the gears, shim the gears, make sure the pinion and bevel are nicely meshed, clean+grease, and also open it up every so often to make sure it was still in good shape. I'm fairly certain that a LMG firing under 25 rps and under 450fps could be made to last a very very long time. Hey ThunderCactus, do you think a P* tank could be hidden somewhere inside of an LMG? .. somehow? |
Don't discount the CA m249....when it has Daytona internals like mine. :D just sayin
It's reliable but it's not super light nor that accurate. I actually don't want to be all that accurate so I have an excuse to spray more rounds down range. My LCT RPK is reliable, somewhat accurate with .28's+ and reasonably light enough to field as a long ass rifle with real cap mags. :) The drums more fun but... |
Inokatsu M60A1, PolarStar powered M240B, PolarStar powered M249 and PolarStar powered MK23 Stoner. All the PolarStar LMG are stupid easy to work on, no small parts like a conventional AEG, fully customization on the FPS and rate of fire, EXTREMELY LIGHT internals.

The realism of the INOKATSU body paired with their near indestructible internal box makes them the top in their category as such their price (some twice or triple the price of a regular LMG AEGs) also reflect the quality craftmanship of their product |

the 249's box doesn't have enough room, best way off the top of my head would be to secure a tank with paracord in between the tubes of the para stock |

My Echo 1 RPK is a beast. Upgraded with a tight bore, it is crazy accurate, and the range is excellent, I can get reliable single shot torso hits at 200'. The only drawback to this AEG is that it is the worst battery hog of any of my electric guns, ever. I go through 3 batteries in a 4 hour game.
Battery life aside, it's a real treat to lay down suppressive fire on opposing players from 200'+ away. They have no idea where the BB's are coming from. I only shoot black BBs from the RPK so it's harder for my victims to see where I'm shooting from. |
