.12g in .20g gun
 

what exactly will happen if i use .12g bullets in a .20g gun (the kraken) will it break or just do less damage? if so which part of it would break

It will be useless.
.12's are as useless as they come seeing as they have no weight to push, most have heavy seams and burs, of which can cause death of your inner barrel.
They may be cheap, but your not going to get any accuracy out of those.

It's about the quality of the BBs, not the wieght. All .12s will do is travel faster and reduce accuracy (outdoors) because they're more prone to be affected by the wind.

Now, CHEAP .12 BBs are not perfectly spherical, and often have a seam line from their cheap manufacturing process. Often, there are misshapen BBs. They can cause jams in your mags and barrel.

yea there are actually "good" quality .12's out there. ive had ones that were perfectly round no seems or anything and very smooth and shiny. the ones you get at wal-mart that glow in the dark are pretty decent also, but stay away from the clear ones

leave the .12's for springers

ive heard that .12g bbs also damage the gearbox too. the people who owned my brothers kirenex before him were shooting random .12's out of it so im wondering what kind of wear that did to its gearbox

Don't try to play cheap.. get high quality +0.20 BBs. Use the 0.12 for grenades.

Yes, there are some good quality .12s, and they work fine for indoor plinking. Beyond that, they're useless. And since they cost about the same as good quality .2g BBs, it sort of defeats the purpose of getting them.

And no, BB weight has no bearing on the internals of the mechbox. Whether you're shooting .12 or .43, the only thing that is affected is your velocity and accuracy. BB weight has no effect on the gearbox internals. Now, if a cheap .12 was to get jammed, I could see perhaps overpressure in the barrel affecting the piston or something, but otherwise, weight will have no effect.

I used 0.12g BBs once outdoor. To be honest, they travel farther but just float to all possible directions. Sometimes, they break depending on the manufacturing quality.

0.20g BBs are more recommended.

Yeah, I don't even bother with .2 outdoor anymore. I only use them to test my guns. The minimum I use is .25. Usually, I use .28 in my AEGs, and .30 in my pistols. I'd use .30s all around if they weren't so damn expensive.

Sorry for butting in here, but I was wondering on what you guys think about the .20 g bio BB's? Do you think there better to use because of the effect plastic bb's do to the environment?

Bio BBs are fine. I use them. They are good to the environment as you said.

Styrak, yes, I used 0.12g BB "once" for fun, and they were damn hard to manage.

Interesting, I find 0.2g are fine, partially because I don't like to spend extra money to get > 0.2g BBs. Of course, > 0.2g BBs will give you more stability (not necessarily accuracy), but Vancouver players spread too much that using different-weight BBs doesn't really make a huge difference.

yea i think so too. once you have your hop up properly adusted theyre as accurate as anything and i know this cuz all of my aeg's are in the 390 to 410 fps range and the bbs come out of them far and straight. with a full auto burst they only spread apart at a long distance

i like buying my bbs from evike even thought lots of people seem to have problems with them. i get 10k of their matrix .2's for around 26 dollars including shipping

Using different weight BB's makes ALL the difference, especially outside and through brush.
