If you can, relax the stitching around the pads. In other words, reduce the volume of the cavity the pads sit in and bunch up the material a bit. It will look a little looser, but when you bend the knee, the material and stitching won't be strained, and it will last a long time. From your standing pic, it looks like the material is a bit tight.

All the Crye pants I've ever had are done this way, as well as my Skillers work pants and the knees are still good even though the rest of the rest of the pants will be worn out.
