Hey everyone, the name is Peter (Spike9). I’ve been thinking of this whole airsoft thing for quite some time. I’ve played scenario paintball a few times in the past with buddies and rented equipment and really enjoyed playing, but never took the leap to actually by my own equipment. Being older with kids it’s hard to find time to do this kind of stuff on a regular basis, but I’d still like to give it a try. I spent a few years in the reserves when I was younger and made it to the rank of corporal in the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment; in my days they were a mechanized infantry unit. I was a Grizzly/Cougar/Husky driver, a small arms coach and a member of the unit’s shooting team; so I’m no stranger to military tactics or equipment. Of course one of the things I really enjoyed was the weekend and summer exercises.
I have over the years collected my own little arsenal of fire arms that were a lot of fun to shoot until they changed all the laws, now most of them collect dust because they can’t leave the house. I figure getting into airsoft will allow me to bring back some of the joy of shooting military style weapons and military styled exercises and maybe even just a little target shooting. I might be a little rusty, but I’m sure it won’t take long to get up to speed.
