You guys should listen to Brian. Don't ever lie. A police officer can claim probable cause in almost every vehicle situation. Ie suspicious vehicle, driver demeanor. Also there is such a thing as a telewarrant. Basically they will detain you, and their dispatch will put them through to a judge. The judge then has the authority to permit them to a search. At which point your gear will be confiscated, and your vehicle torn apart. They do not have to put it back for you after. And you may not see your Airsoft guns for a long time.

Answer all questions truthfully. If he says "what's in the car?", or "is there something I should know about?", then tell him exactly what's in there. If he asks to see them, do not put your hands on the guns themselves. You will be taken down or tazed. This has actually happened over Airsoft guns. You may not get charged or permanently lose you stuff, but they can make your life a living hell for awhile.

And why on earth would you lie or disrupt a peace officer? They are there to help you, not arrest you for properly transporting a legal to own item. If they just give you a speeding ticket, and don't ask questions you don't have to tell them. But if you have any baseball bats, Airsoft guns, knives, or other questionable items let them know when you are asked. Be polite, be helpful, be courteous even if the peace officer isn't. Don't give them a reason to dislike you, or you'll feel it.
