I hear you (no pun intended). I find CTCSS tones are only needed if people are using the same frequency. Most games that I go to, 1 team will use 1 frequency and the other team will use a different frequency. If you don't want the other team listening in, then the sub channels would be required. I guess this is where honesty comes in to play.
