If you are looking for a compression spring. I found mine at an auto parts store. Fairly inexpensive.
pizzainthemorning... what did you end up using for the spike? How is it secured?
I'm using a stainless steel screw right now, but i'm getting inconsistent punctures on the top of the C02 cylinder.
