1. Infantry is a MOS not a Branch in the US Military like the Army or Marines.
US Army an US Marines both have Infantryman.

2. Only the US Marines an Naval Corpman(in USMC units) get MARPAT. Woodland MARPAT replaced the BDUs an Desert MARPAT replaced DCUs.

3. The US Army ACU replaces both BDUs an DCUs. Some units are still wearing BDU/DCU in the field, since it is more effective an tougher(won't fall apart/tear as easily).

4. Most Soldiers in the US Army have the MICH helmet by now, but there are still a good chunk with PASGTs. The USMC is in the process of replacing the PASGT helmet with a Light Weight Helmet(LWH).

MARPAT = MARine PATtern
ACU = Army Combat Uniform
BDU = Battle Dress Uniform(woodland cam uniform)
DCU = Desert Combat Uniform

Yea, but some units are more leniant than others, especially when on Operation. Same thing here in Canada.
