I carrry my rifle barrel down for a number of reasons! if you carry your gun barrel down on a three point sling on your back it will be totally out of the way and the only thing it will hang up on is when you are stepping over really big logs and stuff like that otherwise going through brush and stuff is really easy! you hardly notice that you have the gun on. if you want I can post a picture of myself with the gun strapped on so you can see what I am talking about. Its really easy and cheap to make a three point sling yourself.
