wires to the motor go through both holes. one wire is routed straight while the other crosses over so that both come down the same side. I forget if it's front or back but it's the longer one of the two that ends up coming down the opposite side. There is enough space between the top of the grip and the motor (near pinion gear) for the wire to cross. It doesn't get in the way of the motor whatsoever.
