TM hicapa Gas capacity/shots per gas fill problem

Hello....

So today, I was doing some routine/weekly plinking, and the weird thing is... my mag was only able to shoot 15-20 rounds out of 31, on a full gas charge....

I figured it needed cleaning and lubing, so I clean it, and lubed it, and it was still shooting about half a mag on a full gas charge....

I dont know why this happens..... it was shooting perfectly few days ago, and today when i took it out of the box, I'm having this issue....

Thx for your help.....

PS: IMO its not a cooldown issue, or a piston head issue

Do you have any upgrades, or a metal slide?

Do you have upgraded recoil springs?

put some oil into the nozzle, I was having gas issues in my MEU but it seems that the rocket valve was sticking in the nozzle and wasting gas, some thick oil made it go from 12 shots for 40 shots

nop i was thinking about that, and immediatly switched to a new propane bottle... and I'm using TM mags, so when the mag is full...the 2-way fill valve lets you know it, by spraying liquid gas everywhere....

and I'll try your soution Nooblord, in a few minutes...lol

i had a similar problem with my kjw hi-capa and just took off the hammer spring assembly, removed the sear plate, "inspected it" found there was no bend, and re-installed it.

Uhh... I think you're talking about a different problem, Ike. There's no way that the leaf spring is related to over-consumption of gas.

Swap the floating valve spring back to the stock one. The one that comes with the Nine Ball Dyna Piston Head causes problems in a lot of builds. It's too stiff and doesn't allow the rocket valve to fully/quickly close, causing high gas consumption. Only certain builds are capable of supporting this spring (read: high flow valves + tightbore)

If that works, put the enhanced recoil springs back in. You'll appreciate the performance boost.
