And for the infamous bolt catch you are indeed very lucky, I could not make it work the way it was supposed too and wasn't the last to try... so I'm getting the Iron Airsoft 416 kit and not waiting for VFC
I also found the front sight pins to way too big for removal and a stripped screw on the barrel.
Plus the stock ring was screwed so tight the buffer tube got damaged too.

I suppose you mean its attractive in terms of cost not quality.Correct?
As far as I know Inokatsu is great in terms of quality but its price
is a pain for most wallets...

Yes it was attractive for the price, not the quality, this is a low end quality GBBR made mostly of zinc except for the aluminium die-cast receiver and outer barrel. My bolt catch doesn't work any more lol But now I installed the complete VFC steel trigger group with steel magazine catch and steel selector switch. I also modded the Ra-Tech prime steel bolt carrier to work with it but the rof dropped way too much and the cool down, compare to the zinc alloy VFC stock bolt carrier is too high so I don't use it. I also added 4 washer in the buffer tube and it really increase rof and recoil a lot, very impressive for a 1$ mods!

The youtube video is here for a very short time due too the trouble I had with my last videos.

Complete mods:

VFC parts:
Steel Nato engraved outer barrel
Steel flash hider
Steel front sight
Deluxe handguard set with steel heatshield plate
Steel Bolt catch
Steel bolt catch plate
Steel firing pin set
Steel firing pin locker
Steel firing pin retainer
Steel hammer and disconnecter set
Steel trigger set
Steel magazine catch set
Steel selector switch

BCM RS Ar-15 aluminium/steel carry handle
5KU anti-rotannional pins
Ebaybanned steel dust cover
Enchaced recoil buffer tube with 4 washers in it
Ra-tech steel Prime bolt carrier

If I'm not mistaken, your anti-roll pins are on backwards.

It's possible, I never saw them in that way. I only thoughts that if it stop the pins coming out of the gun firing then it was good! But both allen are stripped and I must cut them to remove them lol

I'm used to it, I'll cut a line with a dremel metal disk to use a flat screw driver and I'll switch them to normal flat screw, no more stripping

Thanks for great review Sim! I based my purchase on this review and I must say I am very pleased. The recoil is not where I want it but I am working on that. I wanted to report that VFC must have updated the gun as all of the following parts are now steel out of the box.

Steel Bolt catch
Steel bolt catch plate
Steel firing pin set
Steel firing pin locker
Steel firing pin retainer

I went over it with a magnet last night, the catch also seems very solid, the whole gun is actually bloody solid as you reported, which is great for the price I paid been $540 New Zealand. Not sure if that speed buffer you photographed was standard, but if so that has been replaced with your standard type buffer.

If you or anyone has had a chance to try out any WA bolts or carriers I would very interested to know how they went and what mods were required, if any.

Also can anyone tell me what the inner barrel bore is? Can't find out anywhere and don't have the tools to measure.

Cheers!

It's actually quite easy. If you want a WA-based BCG, just change the buffer tube to a WA-based one, e.g. 5KU. I was sanding down my G&P NPAS BCG as suggested on some other forum but it still failed to cycle, so I figured that the BCG must get stuck in the buffer tube for some reasons, and the problem should be the buffer tube. By changing the buffer tube, I solved the problem.

This is also for those who wonder about this mod too.

However, I now have a problem with the buffer retainer pin, as I seemed to have lost its attachment when I was disassembling the gun.

Sim, would you know how to replace it with a WA-based buffer retainer pin by any chance?
