Upgrading a C-Tac VSR10 with PDI parts ???

Since TM VSR10 is so difficult and costly to purchase. And when purchased, the additional cost of upgrades as well.

I thought I might take the easier route and consider a low cost C-Tac VSR10.

Does anyone own one and have done a full PDI upgrade to it?

Yes, 99% of the aftermarket parts will require fitting and/or won't fit properly.

In the end, you will probably have to buy the "stock" parts that are missing from TM...

BuyAirsoft.ca confirmed that all of the VSR10 parts they tested worked, but they did not say what those tested parts were.

Thanks Kos-Mos. That means the tested parts that BuyAirsoft.ca did was only 1% that worked.

I have a bravo vsr 10 that i installed a pdi hop up in with zero issues. I did get a cheapy, taurus vsr i think which isnt even a vsr internally. the taurus has a small cylinder and piston and nothing vsr series will fit aside from mags and the trigger assembly. it will depend on the make and how close they stick to the original. Buyairsoft.ca is where i got the bravo vsr from it fits all the parts i have tried so far but is a 510mm barrel not the 430mm that they list.

At this point I am staying away from clones and focus on the real TM.

You CAN go with clones, but you must have hands-on experience with the real one to know what is correct and what needs to be modified.

I upgraded a TSD M700 for a friend. I used the stock, receiver, bolt handle and end, trigger bridge, mag catch and barrel. The nylon rings in the receiver needed filing to fit properly on the new bolt, we replaced the hop-up unit, hop-up rubber and inner barrel with a TM kit (available almost everywhere, way better than the PDI unit when shooting under 500fps, and the tightbore that comes with it is also VERY nice).

I had to file the receiver where the trigger kit installs as it was badly cast and the trigger was crooked. I also had to shim it after with some thin copper tape (I had it already).

The stock holes for the bolts where reinforced, as with the front and rear sling points, then the stock filled with foam.

The rifle still work perfectly, but had it been a TM, it would have taken 2hours to do what 3 days took...

Also, buyairsoft is know to pull "facts" out of their ass...

I am good at working on my own guns. Not afraid to do mods either.

The C-TAC VSR10 requires too much work when there are other choices.
