M82 SOCOM GEAR - internal upgrade with SR25 gear box
At first I will show some image for the whole view of my beloved SOCOM GEAR M82
now star the story of upgrade We all know SOCOM GEAR M82 is a very expensive toys however it is not the ultimate airsoft gun with an gear box V2 , you will have limitation with the length of cylinder. The SR25 V2.5 gear box - longer cylinder look like the answer to that problem... we have more space to input any kind of spring we want, my one I get the SP170 into that gear box. The internal of M82 is a little bit tricky, the gear box have to have an support frame to hold the gear together with the body _ up & down However the support frame is made for V2 gear and I can not made the new support frame to go with the SR25 ( technical almost impossible ) ---> solution ---> drill directly into the gear SR25 to be able to attached with that support frame Finally its looks like this inside The story is not finished here ... next problem is the magazine SOCOM GEAR M82 is the real size M82 magazine inside the big mag is the small little M16VN mag due to the fact that SR25 gear box is much longer than V2 so the hop up location should be a little forward ---> the little mag inside must move forward so that the new location of bb load match with new hop up location It take me a month to have the perfect internal location I have use the "sock transfer system" together with this hop up - modified hop up appear to be a very good hop up from Taiwan Finished bonus - the shock transfer for outer barrel....just like the real one By the way .... I'm from VIETNAM ---> and this report is made by me in my garden in VN |

Very nice work!
I would have been tempted to use foam shims and epoxy to fix the new position of the mag within the shell. I'm modding a Polar Start to fit one with a full length barrel. No issues with running out of air for the barrel length. |

the steel frame I mod inside the magazine create a very realistic weight ... now you can feel heavy in all part of the gun
