Classic Army M4 Gearbox Removal
Hi Everyone,
I seem to be running into a very simple issue: I cannot remove the gearbox from the lower in my Classic Army M4... Buffer screw removed, mag catch, body pin have been taken out. The only thing is my normal method of sliding gearbox forward (towards barrel side), then tilting the rear out, doesn't seem to work - the back of the GB gets caught on the body Anyone have a different method of getting their GB out? |

Depress the pin locking the rear body pin in place and remove it, then you can get the rear body pin completely out. It helps a bit.
Other than that, CA guns are just shitty for that, you have to get them aligned to the correct molecule. You're not doing anything incorrectly, just keep screwing with it till it comes out. Sometimes you might have to pry it out with a flat head screwdriver.

It is very likely that the tip of the pin is still holding the GB. Just wiggle the pin as you pull up, that helped when my VFC had the same problem.

It's not that it's holding the gearbox, but sometimes there's an improper amount of clearance between the body pin when it's out and the side of the gearbox shell, it can rub against it and make it harder to remove.
