I just painted my VSR. Once you get your hands on it you'll see how easy it is to do.
If you're just painting the stock it's a sinch....there will be two screws on the bottom that you'll remove which will allow you to pull the receiever out from the stock. In which case you just can pull the rubber buttplate off, give the sock a light sanding and then paint away. If you want to paint the entire thing you'll have to strip it down a bit further but there are lots of guides online that show you how to take apart a VSR. It's pretty easy to tell what shouldn't be painted and what can be. Like I said...once you have the gun, it's pretty easy to figure it out. But if you get stumped I can take some pics and show you what I did to mine. |

any smooth parts, rough up with fine sandpaper, it helps the paint stick
give her a rub down with rubbing alcohol to remove any junk. spray her with a primer coat many people like Krylon Olive Drab/Tan/flat black keep it ventilated and spray in an area where its gonna be relativly dust free for a flat look, spray far away. more coats, the better. lots of LIGHT coats...dont have to soak it the 1st time dont let it dry 100% between coats, yo just want the surface to be semi-dry ask poncho, actually, he has some threads in the media section http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filn...ainting101.htm |

Personaly...Yeah, I would...It's super easy, takes 5 mins to take apart, and you won't get paint on anything you don't want to get painted.

BUT
if your not up to the task of pulling the gun apart, you could mask(using tape) off the parts you dont want to paint. |

I posted that up back in June or so. Wasn't overly happy with the way it turned out (not to the same standard as my M24, and black sniper rifles are sexier than anything, but I bought it to play with, not to sit around at home for targets......... planning to get a Savage Arms 10FP in .308 anyways so I can have a sexy black sniper rifle again), but it'll do the job and hopefully give you some ideas. |
