rhodesian vest or lbv?
hey guys
i'm stuck between choosing a eagle MOLLE STYLE RHODESIAN RECON VEST and a eagle LOAD BEARING VEST - USA - ENHANCED. i own a tm 14 and play in a woodland enviroment. the only set of BDUs i own are cadpat and i'm going to try and buy a set of british dpm. what i'm looking for are people that own either vest and can tell me how the vest works for them and are they good for proning and long periods of croutching. a picture with you and your gear would also be really appreciated. |

Would you happen to be anywhere near New West?
I personally cant offer any advice on it, But the staff of Daves Surplus are VERY knowledgeable about what works well for what. You could go in there, get much information & if the products in stock, can try it out. |

The MOLLE enables you to add different pouches for specific needs such as different types of magazine pouches(Pistol/rifle/carbine/smg/M249s..)/grenade pouches/gas mask bags/dump/sathel packs/knive seiths/hosters and more. The LBV has a fixed number of pouches usually 6-8 designed for AK/M16 style magazines

Go MOLLE or go home! Seriously the M14 has them big ass 7.62 mags so you need somthing to hold em. I would also suggest getting what ever you choose in OD so you could useit with your Cad or DPM(when you get it) If your looking for DPM one of the local guys is selling a tonne of it have a gander.

If you go with the Molle vest then you may own that for longer then the gun. Fact is no matter what you get for equipment you can customize the vest to what you want.

Tactical Tailor MAV 2 piece, especially if you plan on going prone / lying down lots. Add an X-harness for comfort.

I've got the Eagle RRV. Highly recommended, but whichever one you choose, go modular.

-_-
Get the MOLLE...
I got the BHI CRV... copy of the Eagle rhodesian one. I own a TM M14 as well, and I find it perfect as a sniper. Especially when you can put the pouches around for different mission setups. |

I would say buy the MOLLE, just for the modularity. You can move it around to suit your needs. Not to mention M16 pouches usually won't fit M14 mags.
