I got myself the HSGI Warlord Bravo V4 in CADPAT TW . From afar, nobody, including your CSM with the eyes of a hawk, can tell you're wearing non-issued kit.
I also have the MAV 1 Piece chest rig with mag shingles added to it and nothing else to keep it low profile. If ya need to carry a couple extra mags on your person without chafing your legs with a subload, it works great. Fits nice underneath the tac vest and if you work in hatched vehicles you can take the tacvest off and still have access to mags via the MAV. Keeps ya from getting stuck when moving around in the hatch. Just my two cents.

As many others have said, the CF vest sucks.
as for CP gear, its top notch. I live near its 2 retail locations and the warehouse and have been using thier stuff since i was a kid. I have been using the same bag for school for 10 years now without a single issue. I also use a bunch of their stuff for airsoft and in the field.

I gotta agree with everything said abou the issued vest. I wore t for three months over seas and couldn't fit what I needed in it and all I carried was ammo and first aid... I picked up a TT MAV and coul fit my mags plus extra sits kit I needed. Now I use my MAV for airsoft.
Don't be afraid o get a Coyote Brown or Olive Drab rig solid collies work well and will be cheaper yhen a CADPAT rig... But hey everyone has their own look they are going for. ~infidel

From what I have seen from friends deploying, as well as troops in Edmonton, a Tactical Taylor MAV or High Speed Gear (HSGI) Warlord Bravo V4 are both nice replacements, and legal for you to own!
If you are looking for a CADPAT rig, take a look at ESSTAC's Bush Boar, they have a nice split front rig as well if your not interested in slipping the rig over your head. The currently issued Tav-Vest is on its was of the OD rain gear over the next couple of years if what I have seen with TF 1-11 holds true. (Turn in old Tac-Vest, Get the new MFR, and spend the rest of the day attaching and removing pouches until the CSM decides how it will be worn.)

I thought about going completely OD. I would get a way larger area to get gear from. It would also be a lot cheaper.
CPgear doesn't have .45 pistol mag pouch. The 9mm fits a 1911 mag, but a USP mag is probably too big. |

Give these links a shot if you are looking for Mag Pouches outside CP Gear.
TT Double Mag Pouch HSGI Pistol TACO Pouch HSGI Pistol Mag Pouch ESSTAC Pistol Mag Pouch ESSTAC Pistol Mag Pouch w/Buckle Drop Zone Tactical Pistol Mag Pouch Try making a different thread for this kind of question as this one is less related to pouch choices and more related to use of a CF Rig and where to get one.

It's really good quality-wise, but you can get something better and cheaper from elsewhere. And most of their stuff is either add-ons to the issued Tac-Vest, or VERY basic original stuff, like the split-rigs and whatnot that cost half as much anywhere else.
If anything, I'd go with something from HSGI.

I'll end up going for Condor gear. The prices are a little more realistic and easy to get. I'm guessing that the quality is pretty is pretty good.
