Hate to revise a old post but I believe that Armalites and the V2 mechbox now have videos for all your maintainance needs. The seem to be adding videos all the time.

Their very good on how to take apart the gearbox but putting it back? Their quite sketchy. I took my ak apart following their instructions, it all went smoothly until it came to the trigger. They completely missed out on that, (V2 gearbox) so i flipped and had to bring it to a local shop to get it fixed up. I recommend a picture book.

GOD BLESS MECHBOX.COM
Seriously I just saved myself who knows how much money by doing it myself, I now have a working secondary weapon, I have just completed reassembling my MP5, which is the best achievement besides gradating from highschool.

They need to get a mechbox guide for the SiG series. I tried following the AK-47 since it's also a V3 mechbox, and now my SiG shoots, but doesn't launch BBs out Now I have to pay a gun doctor to fix it Now I have $167 worth of brand new parts in that mechbox that are just begging to be put to use, and I have to disappoint them by telling them no, you're not quite ready yet.
The tortue. I think I might compile a SiG552 mechbox breakdown and reassembly after I learn how to not completely botch mine. Oh the learning process, how I missed thee.

Other than the trigger (shape), tappet plate (shape), nozzle (length), selector plate (shape and sometimes connector parts) and motor attachment, there shouldn't be any difference between an AK, G36, SIG, AUG or MP5K gearbox, at least internally.

Just today I shipped 6mm at mechbox.com a Trigger Master and wire&connector kit.
Anyway the idea's that they can use the Trigger Master to make a "MOSFET Installation" video. I looked over one of their videos before and found it to be really well done, especially in high-def. Since the wiring needed is pretty much identical across all MOSFETs (2 wires to trigger, 2 wires to battery, 2 wires to motor) it would be useful as more than just "how to install a Trigger Master" which I like very much. I'm sure there are people out there who have the skill required to do such an install but maybe just need that extra reference or visual aid before they're willing to dive in (whether with one of my Trigger Masters, or with any other unit.) |
