I own a KWC 6" chrome Colt Python myself and love it. The looks of a revolver beats any pistol's look in my mind. I wasn't planning on buying a sidearm until I saw the Python because the classic pistols didn't attract me.
My baby gained it's stars by being quite silent. While playing in a forest, I managed to kill 3 people in a row within 20 feet of me before they could realize where the shots were coming from. Tactically it's far from being as handy as a magazine-type pistol but the look compensates |

I'm into revolvers. Definately not as effecient as modern pistols, but if you see some one weilding one you instantly respect them. Something about them just screams badassery, intimidation, and power.
"This is the greatest handgun ever made... the Colt Single Action Army. Six bullets; more than enough to kill anything that moves."

I have one of those 8mm Marushin Colt Constrictors (with shells).
Not that high a FPS but it delivers an impressive amount of energy downrange. 100% impractical for gaming, though.

I tend to lean towards pistols too. I'm a dirty, rotten pistol whore (as can be seen in my sig) and love to shoot them. I enjoy shooting revolvers too, but wouldn't want to game with one.

Besides, what's wrong with revolvers? They may be heavy but "heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it." Last edited by Murdoch; August 5th, 2008 at 14:28.. |

by the way Dirty Harry's gun is NOT a python, certainly not a 357 since inspector Harry used only .44 magnum.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_%26_Wesson_Model_29 it's a model 29.

To stick with the original post;
I'm not a big fan of revolvers, but Barf has a small arsenal of revolvers. Around six of them I believe, including an Anaconda, a Python, and some type of rare 4-barrel snub nose back up. Most of them use 8 mil BBs (0.34 weight), shoot around 340 fps or so, and are fairly accurate out to over 100 feet. He does not field them often, but when he does, everyong want a try those two hand cannons... Maybe I can convince him to post a couple of pic for ya. SHA DO

Yeah I've seen a couple of Barfs revolvers at a FR game one time... heavy bitches too, and the chrony scared the shit out of me, that much power in that size a package...
Definatly Neo-esque "whoa" worthy.

As for the practicality of using them in a game. It is not so much they are unpractical, they just require a different style of shooting and tactics. They are definately not as easy to use as modern pistols though.

Revolvers are fairly reliable - not so prone to stovepiping and other jams experienced in autos. Unless this happens
