Only HIGH or LOW is possible. You can set MAX Tx Power in the software. ASAIK, LOW is 50% of MAX Tx Power and HIGH is 100%

On the other Chinese radios of similar type, they have hi power at 4W (UHF) or 5W (VHF) and 0.5W for low power. This coincides with the FRS/GMRS radios and a wonder if the MBITR replica is the same.

Can someone confirm one of those two statments?
Viking_Dane were can i ajust the Max TX in the Software? I cant find it. Its important for me because 0,5W is Max TX for PMR in Germany. Last edited by KNUDI; May 26th, 2011 at 15:16.. |

I've been having a couple reports of people being able to use it with milspec mics & PTT (Sordins and Comtacs) out of the box... Looks like there's been another revision/version released that allows it.
Would it be possible to get pics of the radio from people who got one within the last month? To see if there's visual differences that could give a hint at a new version.

I would be very interested in knowing which version of the Untied Star MBITR is compatible with real steal military PTT's and headsets.
Not just physically for the connection, but electronically as well... |

Hey guys,
I just got my radio and I used the software to set all the channels to FRS freaks. My issue is with my handset though. I have a Z-tactical h-250 handset, which can transmit just fine, but I can't hear anything being transmitted. Is there an option I need to enable or something? |

My H250 works without issue... Did you use my preset, or did you do your own?

Hi All first of all can I say thanks for all of the above reviews and post I spent most of last night going through and reading up on this nice bit of kit. However I have an issue which has been reported before and I just wanted to clarify it is what I think it is before going and spending more cash.
My 148 can recieve with or without the ptt but cannot transmit and that is with or without an external mic. I am transmitting as my other radios receive light is on but no audible signal. I have done a handset reset but no Joy. My laptop does not have a D type serial port so I'm off to get an adapter today I know allot of people have had issues with this has this been resolved or will i need to buy an old PC ? Thanks in advanced For the advice you have given and I hope you can advise further. Cheers Sam |

Just to give further update i have now got a programing cable and I am able to program the 148 from my PC. However I'm afraid Im still not transmiting any audio. I have tried reseting the radio on my handset and then uploading the settings but still no transmision.
Has anyone had this issue??? Cheers Sam |
