Illusion I know all this, as I've stated already. I had simply had read it wrong long ago and came to that realization quickly a while back, but none the less my interest was peaked for a completely different idea that I wish was plausible.
The 2011 COULD be redesigned to be single stack and still have very many unique features that are different from the 1911, in the frame alone. But because it the 2011 was designed on a principal feature of an increased magazine capacity, it becomes awkward to step back on the drawing board. The split frame is something I really like, as I've stated before it offers so much room for customization; such as slide lengths, grip choices, etc etc. I also find myself enjoying the 2011 slides more and more than the 1911, as you find more details and design both functional and cosmetic design in them; where the 1911 is more flat and BASIC. Don't get me wrong, the 1911 is and always will be my favorite pistol as I can't think of an angle that the gun does NOT look sexy at.
