ICS-30 M16 A3 RAS Upgrade Assistance
Hi
I have an ICS M16 A3 RAS 2010 ver I just installed a madbull v2 6.03 barrel, promethues purple bucking and element h-nub I would like to upgrade the spring and piston set Would it be able to handle a M130 Spring ? Would the following be good choices/compatible? http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/upgrade-p...-m16a1-vn.html http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_i...ducts_id=26260 Also is there any tutorials on setting the ICS selector to semi only eg. with a screw? Your advice is greatly appreciated |

Hey Fabzter, since you posted in my thread last time and we are looking at similar types of upgrades I hope you don't mind me also asking a similar question here as to aid the guys helping not to dbl post.
I have an ICS m4 and i upgraded from a 363mm barrel to a 455mm one, I am now looking to put a Element Bore-up kit http://www.ebairsoft.com/element-bore-p-1072.html and a Lomex M120 spring in there. http://www.ebairsoft.com/lonex-taiwa...20-p-3065.html Same question would the ICS M4 R.I.S V.3 motor be good with that spring? (High speed not high torque) and do I need to keep anything else in mind? Advice and insight much appreciated. Last edited by HavokZA; May 25th, 2010 at 11:22.. |

Rember, if you are upgrading the spring, think about upgraded your gear set and most importantly your motor.

Generally people are weary to address how to build a hot gun with new players. Usually the community prefers an "Upgrade the player not the gun" mentality.
As for compatibility from what Ive read that particular gearbox is not compatible with standard marui parts so I don't think that the Cylinder kit you mentioned is compatible, however I have no first hand knowledge with this particular rifle so Im mainly going off limited research. I believe there are some Systema upgrade parts avaliable in Kits for this gearbox but Im not sure exactly what to suggest. Cheers |

A 130MS spring will be too hot for your gears to drive, resulting in the motor and battery overheating and over damage to your gun.
Element parts are the worst you can possibly think about using. That spring brand is quite unknown, I would guess that is the the same kind that is re-branded under various names depending on the retailler.... and they are crap. If you want to upgrade you gun, fine, but select parts that are worth it. Why do you want a bore-up kit? You are installing a 590mm tightbore into your M16? Stock M16 lenght is 509mm by the way. Bore-up are used for extra long barrel lenght. They are useless and cause problems for short barrels. An M130 will bring you somewhere around 450 fps. That is not field-legal anywhere I know in Canada... not even for semi-locked rifles. What you should do with your M16 is buy a complete M120 upper mechbox from an ICS dealer, a Madbull 509mm tightbore from airsoftparts.ca and a guarder clear rubber from airsoftparts.ca also. You will then have a great rifle for summer time, and you can downgrade it to 350 fps in a breeze for winter/CQB play. |
