Pointless for laser sight in day games?
I'd like to spice up my UMG a bit and I was thinking about getting a red dot laser for it.
However is there even a point to get one if i will be playing mainly during the day? |

Red dot sights are the best for the day. Laser pointer sights are useless since you cant see anything unless its a green laser. Even then its kinda useless IMO.

However Red dot you can't go wrong, you will always be able to see the red dot since its in the unit not on the target. |

Lasers have become a restrict item at many playing venues either by host or owner choice as they have been deemed unsafe to use. Due to the cheap mass production of such devices they have become readily available for purchase by many people. It has been found that misuse of these devices (especially those of the green variety) have been known to cause eye damage and in severe cases (where a moron shows up with a high powered laser) burn people or burn peoples gear.
As far as red dot sights go, as long as you purchase a good quality dot sight then you should have no issue using the device in daylight. Most low end models including most asia produced clone items are noted to be difficult to view during bright and sunny situations.

I wouldn't use a laser sight even if it were allowed. In the end, it'll give away your position, or just let the guy generally know where you're pointing the barrel.
A RDS would be better in CQB and ranged combat, I would think. |

By the time you can find the laser on your opponent and line it up perfect, your out. Its good for show but not for use

Lasers used properly can be a game changer, for things like target designation, they work very well. As with anything used as they are intended they do the job.. misused they are a hazard

Lazers are just great for pin pointing locations but like stated above, gives your location away.
Edit: Brian already explained it damn, too quick post. |

It's great for night ops for "painting your target" only works with NVG goggles but still pretty cool

I used to use the laser to point my team mates on where to fire at. Esp in dark indoor games.
