Is this gear worth it?

I have been browsing on ebay lately and have come across two things in particular that have caught my eye. The links are bellow....

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Latest-Combat-Tac...item4aa4c098f9

http://cgi.ebay.ca/GERMAN-ARMY-UNIFO...item3a47301c19

Just tell me if you think their worth the price and whatnot. This would be my first vest and I don't have a lot of mags so im not really worried about the amount that comes with each. Also, ive heard flectarn as well as digital looks terrible when it fades, is this true? Because my cadpat pants are beginning to fade and they aren't looking nearly as effective as when I first got them.

Not worth it.

Alrigtht, fair enough :P. I think the flecktarn set though would be really good for starting out.

For your first set, no need to go extra high quality. Just hit your local surplus store and get yourself some cheap BDUs, like woodland. It's always useful to have BDUs you DON'T like since you don't mind jumping into mud or/ paintball goo. You'd cry if you have to wash a 300$ set after playing on a paintball field.

You certainly have a point. Weird thing is, on ebay the cheapest camo stuff is usually flecktarn, which is pretty weird as I thought it would be woodland or OD cause thats what im really interested in buying along with coyote brown gear.

Ebay is ebay. It's always better to go to local store to try the clothing on. You know it fits. I have a Multicam jacket I bought off here that is slightly too small, even if all the mesures seemed to fit me.

Woodland is really cheap. You can also get the chocolate chip desert camo if you prefer

I LOVE the chocolate chip desert camo! Is so awesome, as is the 3 colour desert which I have the pants of!

Haha I plan on next purchasing a pair of us woodland pants to go with my jacket to make the set. Although an OD bdu with coyote brown gear would work nice, or so I would come to think anyways.

If you ever come to NS, the Army Navy Store in Halifax sells Flecktarn for 8$/shirt and $20/Pants...it's real stuff, too, the tags are in German.

Thats actually awesome! Can I order them online? Cause the army navy store here only sells woodland, 3 colour desert, tiger stripe, ACU and cadpat. The only cheap stuff is the 3 colour desert and woodland and their $35 for pants and $35 for the jacket. All other pants are like $65 and their used!

That's actually expensive for 3-color desert IMO.

I paid less for my cadpat.

Exactly, thats why I try to buy most my stuff off ebay. And the pants aren't even new either. A think a pair of cadpat pants are well over 70 bucks!

Well quality stuff like frontenac is around that price. But Propper/Tru-Spec which are both IMO great are less. You can get a complete set with shipping from Propper for 83$ IIRC. Or buy them used when you're AV'd from this forum.

Well the cadpat pants I own I managed to get for free. I know a guy who works on the base where I live he got me a pair from the warehouse. Although, they seem incredibly thin...its actually crazy, I need to wear pajama pants underneath them their so thin.

If you want to play alot, get high quality gear, if your only out 5 or 6 times a year, go cheap.
When you start playing hard, it pays to have high quality gear. Having pouches rip off during combat really sucks

Clothes are wear items, feel free to cheap out.

Gear/boots/rigs are long-term items. Don't get knock-offs. Real good boots, real good goggles, and real rigs.

Your better off with one of the simplest Eagle chest rigs for $80 then a Chinese CIRAS or similar. Decent gear will have warranties, good stuff with be backed with lifetime ones.
