TM Glock 17 Metal Slide Issue.

Hi,

I just installed a PGC Glock 17 metal slide and barrel as well as a Guarder steel trigger plate onto my Gen 3 TM G17. And now for some reason, the slide won't cycle back all the way when firing. Like when you shoot, the slide cycles just slightly shorter than needed to chamber a BB or lock the slide. So when I shoot, it shoots the first chambered BB but won't chamber the next ones. Despite all this, the slide feels very smooth riding on the frame.

Anyone know whats wrong?
(Oh right, I'm running on propane as well.)

pgc kits require minor modification, I dont know specificly where.

Try lots of lube.

well that can happen to pretty much any "newly-installed" metal slides, on any gun, the slides usually need to be broken in, so sit down, open the TV, remove mag, and rack the slide over and over...lol

It actually slides back very easily and smoothly. It's just the gas doesn't seem to have enough "oompf" to cycle it all the way back. I'm thinking maybe high flow valve or upgrade hammer spring might do the trick.

Oh and I got the ported version of the PGC slide if that makes a difference.

check your loading nozzle, make sure part 26-8 is intact.

make sure the piston cup, G17-4 is tight and lubed. also this is a good part to upgrade for a better air seal

what shape is your valve striker in ,G 17-23

Gaurder trigger plate?G26-36?

leave your trigger spring alone

Thanks! It works after I added some silicon oil to the bulb as well as piston head.
Only, I'm a little disappointed with the recoil . It felt faster and harder on the plastic slide.

I think I might just upgrade the Piston Head as well as recoil spring and hammer spring. Any suggestions of what piston head I should get?

Ok, nevermind. For some reason, the gun works OK with warm mags, but the blowback is very weak. Any ideas?

PS. I also tried to install a 150% hammer spring but that made the slide "stick."

Well, the blowback is mainly produced by the impact of the slide when it stops, therefore, a plastic slide is lighter, so it will speed up faster, ending in a higher velocity impact at the end of the course, meanwhile a metal slide, being heavier will have less speed, even if it's got more inertia as it's heavier. The impact force is determined by the velocity and the weight of the moving part.

Did you remove enough material from your slide rails?

Edit: yup, just tested with half full mag, stock valves, both SA custom "200%" (more like 120-140% IMO) and stock recoil spring, stock springs, fitted and partially polished slide rails, with PGC Glock 17 slide running with barrel. Guarder loading nozzle/floating valve assembly, tested with: stock piston head, PDI piston head, something that resembles a Dyna but isn't a Nine Ball. Cycled fully to slide lock with all configurations.

I know when I was first installing my PGC slide, I initially had it fitted nice and tight - no rattles. Had cycling issues, so took a little more material off and finished it with high-grit sandpaper again. Slight rattle, but it cycled great.

Where did you sand it?

Seriously? Well, there's your problem. Your slide rails. The tops of them. All 4 spots where the slide comes in contact with your slide rails.

See KEVORKIAN's post, # 23. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...t=60308&page=2

PGC Glock slides for the Marui need fitment, they don't run perfect out of the box.

Edit: sorry, I thought I had read that you had already fitted it. Maybe not, then. Ah, you said "installed".

How do I tell if I sanded enough? I've so far sanded a little bit and it doesn't seem to make much a difference.
The slide still slides smoothly. The only path of resistance I can find is when the outer barrel tries to get under the slide. Other than that, the slide is silk smooth.

Uhhh... I dunno. That's up to you to find out. The way I like mine is so that without the BBU/barrel/spring guide the slide can fall free of the frame by the force of gravity alone. Smooth is what you're aiming for, but you shouldn't have to pull hard on the slide to rack it? I don't know, if what you're saying is true, and the slide really is sliding smoothly without resistance along the slide rails.... well then this isn't the problem.

For me, I had to sand enough to completely remove the black paint from the points that KEVORKIAN had shown pictures of in his post., and then some. And then some more.

Yea, my slide can already free fall without needing a push. And yes, the slide slides really smoothly. There is barely any resistance to it, other than the outer barrel contacting with the slide. Also another thing I noticed, with the stock magazine, the gun fires and cycles properly everytime where as the 2 other TM G17 mags I bought cycle fine for the first few shots and then it gets weak really fast. The new mags also seem to run out of gas a lot faster.

EDIT:
OK so, it seems like it's almost a mag shimming problem. When I push my new mag into my gun, it works REALLY well and kicks very fast. With my stock TM mag that came with the gun, it actually seems to work fine. Go figure :/.

WELL, I just discovered something today.
I think I'm missing part "G17-9"
http://media.photobucket.com/image/t...partslist1.jpg

Anyone know what it does and where I can get a replacement?
