Helmet questions..
So...I'm kind of retard when it comes to gear...a couple of questions for you geardos.
1. I bought a protec A-alpha helmet. It has the strap system and the "nape" thingy. I did a bit of search for "adjusting Protect A-alpha helmet" but didn't find anything that helped with this. - How should the nape pad be adjusted? should it be wide enough the two rear straps are kept as straight as possible...should it be positioned low on the neck, or as high up as possible...etc. For lack of any response...I just go with what seems most comfortable. 2. I'm going to paint a couple of helmets...one is no big deal ...the other is this protec a-alpha. The furniture (rails/straps/goggle keeper) I can deal with by unscrewing things and removing it...the foam detaches easily, no biggie. What should I do with the big squares of Velcro on the side? Tape them off? Paint over them? I don't think I can remove them without a lot of scraping (which I don't really want to do). Thanks for the answers to the gear-newbie questions Tys |

cool thxs...gear is a PITA.
What's the nape pad for anyways?...doesn't make anything more comfortable...doesn't really stop it from tipping forward. Last edited by m102404; June 3rd, 2011 at 16:00.. |

if you want to remove it to make it pretty, use a heat gun to soften the adhesive. should peel right off. might require you to get new velcro though.
