Propane in a SOCOM 1911
I'm a GBB noob. I have a new Socom Gear WE Full Metal Punisher 1911 on the way and I would like to use it with propane. I want to order an adaptor kit from AI but I remember some concerns with propane (or ProPAIN as i remember a few people calling it back in the day) that you needed to get a stronger slide and flow restrictor so as not to damage the gun internals.
Is this something I would have to worry about? |

I've run this exact gun on propane with no issues.

Can't fix my own guns. Willing to fix yours.

only with japanese plastic guns do you need to take special precaution with propane
the WE 1911 will break all on its own, with or without propane |

The WE 1911 will be fine with propane. Just don't let Nooblord touch it and it won't break.

unless you... fire it, or touch it, or try using it all, then itll break
eat my ass drake and just to clarify, ive seen my share of we 1911s, they do break, and they are not good, the spring plugs and barrel bushing are notoriously weak, and the internals are also sub par quality, the hopup rubber is also very poor, it may break in 50 shots, or 5000 shots, but it WILL break

Been running my Punisher for 2 years on propane. Other than battle scars, upgrading the inner barrel and hop up rubber, it's been a worthy sidearm. Oh and the WE jewel fell out of the grip

Thanks for the help gang! (perhaps a little more ass eating than I was expecting). What about the KWA Mp7 GBB on proPAIN?

KWA internals are generally good quality, but their hopup rubbers and nozzles wear out/break after some time, but replacements are available and quite cheap

Are you saying the use of propane accelerates the wear of the KWA nozzles and rubbers as compares to running on green gas?

All guns will wear eventually. Its just a matter of time. I have had WE 1911s in the past that have had over 3000 rounds through them with no issues. Only thing about WE is the paint is usually shit.
Regarding KWA, I find the hop up buckings like to swell up over time. But thankfully they are like 5 dollars from KWA USA. Jordan |

like jordan said, the hopups on KWA like to swell up, and the nozzles are made of a very thin plastic and occasionally blow up |

Your concerns are unwarranted. You're thinking of all-plastic and fragile WA guns which are meant to run on duster gas (lower pressure).

See what I did there? Use your time away from the forum to learn how to install an anti reversal latch or something.
