Motors made for active breaking?

I heard the Systema A-Zs are made for active breaking. Is this true? And are there any other motors that can handle active breaking better than others?

No.

By definition, active braking is putting a lot more stress on your motor.

Until some brushless motors come out for airsoft guns, no motor will be "better" for active braking.

Well you could argue that stronger motors are going to be better than weaker ones

Consequently, motors using Neodymium magnets should be better than ferrous

So to answer OP (short answer that is) would be: high torque motors *should* perform better for active breaking; however, don't quote me on that as while it's theoretically true, I have no idea if it is practically

Yes, while higher torque motors will STOP the gears easier and faster, they will also consume a LOT more energy doing so and cause a LOT more wear on the commutator and brushed.

So all in all, don't use active braking. It's not worth it really if your gun is built properly.

Use neo magnet motors and brushes with low silver content if you really want AB.
Chances are if you're using a neo magnet motor, you probably don't even need AB anyway.

I've got AB on my M249, using an EF1300 hummer, and the motor only "failed" after 4 years of constant and heavy use. Comm turned black from arcing and stopped conducting. Cleaned the comm, still working fine, brushes are still good. Running the motor causes more brush wear than active braking.
I'd like to see the comms of a few high quality motors from rifles with AB used by heavy semi auto spammers.
