outer barrel swap g&g raider cm16 help

Recently I picked up a combat machine as my first gun. Now the bugs caught me and I'm looking at modding it. I have thrown a new motor in and ordered a new hop up unit and inner barrel.

However I made a mistake in buying the long barrel version, not knowing my playing style at the time. Now I am looking to go to a more cqb look with a shorter barrel and internal surpressor. However my current outter barrel has no thread and is held in by set screws as it is a 2 piece.

Can anyone point me in the right direction getting many different responses.

Your Raider has threads on the end of the barrel....

But anyway,
You'll need a new outer barrel, and if you want to keep a triangle sight you'll need a new one of those too (since on the CM16's it's all one piece). Was the inner barrel you bought a shorter one? with a 10.5" barrel you'll need a 300mm inner.

The barrel has no threads it's held in with set screws, so like I was asking would any barrel work. There is some threads coming out of the reviewer.

Secondly the lock nut will not go over most standard outter barrels from what iv seen as they are to wide at some points.

I have purchased the 300mm inner looking for around a 10 outter

Thought you meant muzzle end threads. But yes it's a standard threaded receiver. And yeah you might need a new delta ring/barrel nut.

After doing all this it might be a better idea to just buy a second gun...

Not economical to change it out. The rail system it comes with has adapter mounts for the factory barrel that may not work with an after market one. So by replacing the outer barrel you might have to replace the rail system or modify the mount adapters to work with the new barrel.
