Washing Plate Carriers
Hi,
I recently attended an outdoor game in a farm field and had a blast. However as everyone knows outdoor games lead to stuff getting dirty. My question is how do you guys clean your Plate Carriers? I currently have a Condor Plate Carrier. Washing Machine? Hose? Hand Wash in a tub? Thanks, JW

I just fill the tub with laundry soap, let the carrier soak in it for awhile, swish it around, scrub and soiled areas.
Then fill it with cold clean water some softener and let it sit, swish it a bit then hang it to dry.

1. you don't
2. if you really have to wash it you can take everything off/out, throw it in the washing machine and tumble dry on low |

How much sand CAN you fit in your vagina!?

Leave bits of dirt and scuffing, it makes it better. So unless it's mud, prickles, or paint I wouldn't worry about it. If it's necessary, try a warm cloth and hand clean the areas that need it. If it's completely soiled and disgusting, washing machine on delicate (minimal soap) and hang dry. Make sure everything is removed, especially foam layers or plating.

Thanks for the info. I know cleaning isnt really necessary but im just worried about in the long run if it will start to stink from use.

I've had success with the warm water on a tub method.
I used some very mild laudry soap and scrubbed it with my hands. Washed the soap off with cold water and left it in the sun to dry a good while. Washing machine on gentle cycle should be ok as long as it's cold water so you don't risk shrinkage. And always hang to dry. I'll try this next. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just hand wash in a bucket. Let it soak in a little detergent and then swish it around. hang to dry. no big deal really. gets all the salt and sweat off it so it doesn't smell like a stale dorito when you have to wear it again.

Sorry for necroposting, but do NOT take any of your gear to a dry cleaners.
Dry cleaning uses a solvent instead of water and can damage the fibers, as well as ruining any waterproofing treatments or IR coating. Hand wash at home in lukewarm water, and if you play night games, or have IR treated gear, make sure to use a mild detergent without and UV additives; my preference is sport wash because it removes any previous detergent that hasn't washed off, as well as removing the sweaty smell, and not damaging any treatments.

50/50 water and cheap vodka. spray inside of carrier to kill any nasty crap from sweating.
warm wash cloth minimal soap on the inside. if outside is dirty, paintball jizz and the like, old toothbrush and warm soapy water. if you've been rolling in mud, bathtub with mild detergent no softener. rinse thoroughly hang to dry. |
