TM AK47 Metal Body and Motor Upgrade
Hi I have a stock TM AK47 AEG and would like to upgrade it to full emtal body, which means the lower and upper metal receiver. Im eyeing on the G&P metal bodies but to fix them does it mean having to do some drilling and filing on the metal receivers, esp the lower one so it can fit?
Because Ive read that these metal receivers have to be slightly tweaked to be able to fit into the AK. for eg, the CA one. Also acn the Ak47 take the EG1000 motor? if so which battery should i get to be able to best suit it? |

Get the Classic Army AK47 lower receiver and the G&P upper/forward receiver. Those two fit together with minimum modification. For the AK I have owned and installed DTP, CA, HK and G&G. I found the CA to be the best.

changing the motor is useless....as for the metal body well... i"ve had issues with just about any metal body instalation. specially with the G&P metal front end. But I've also had some perfect fit, it's hit or miss in what your getting.

Anybody has tried the G&P lower metal receiver? Is it good?
And is there a Guarder one? I cant seem to find it. |

Guarder one? Didn't know they made one for the AK, of coarse I could be wrong. In total, I installed 6 or 7 CA lower receivers combined with G&P upper receivers and only had slight fitting issues with I think, 3. After a little filing they fit together nice and snug. Now those AK's are so solid you could beat someone silly with them and not damage the gun.
What more do you want exactly? Oh, and if your hell bent on replacing the motor you could try out a Hummer although there is nothing wrong with the motors Marui has in the guns anyway. |

You cannot buy the Guarder AK receiver separately from one of their overpriced kits. It is, however, the absolute best bar none.
I had the DTP receiver on my AK for a while. The thing is built solid as a brick and about as heavy; you could drive nails with this thing without causing damage. Unfortunately the mag well tolerances are much looser than others and magazines will wobble side to side, causing feeding problems. I also had the G&P front end installed and they didn't match up properly, so I was only able to install two screws instead of four. I ended up taking the receiver off and going back to the plastic Marui one, which has been working great ever since. |

I have the HK metal body on my gun and is sould as a rock no lie. I have had no problems with mags being loose, it a quick in and out no fooling around. For some reason my AK with just the HK metal body seems to feel as heavy as FF's full metal and wood AKM.

I see well thanks. Shurdiys, so you did not install ur G&P front metal receiver ultimately? Why not just do some work on it to make it fit?
I dont think I will upgrade my Ak motor for the time being then. But does anybody know what I should buy for it to be able shoot 400fps to 450 fps? |

I kept the G&P front end and ditched the DTP receiver. I could have Dremeled it to fit properly I suppose, but I ended up going with a different style that called for another receiver type.
