A&K M249 Para problem

Well the problem is simple:

The gun sometimes just stop shooting, I dont know why. Battery is find. The weird thing is that after a moment, the gun can restart shooting for a while. Always the same problem coming back.

Looks like the engine is not turning at all...Maybe an electronical problem.

Just wondering if anybody knows what could be wrong with my aeg, I'm probably not the first guy having that kind of problems.

Thanks in advance,

Warrior

It could very likely be that the contacts on your trigger have corroded, I've seen this on some guns before, what kind of battery are you using?

Check if the plugs have not fallen off on the motor. If you shot semi a lot with the 249, chances are you've fried the Microswitch and need a replacement.

Thanks for the help so far guys:

-If one of the connectors would be disconected, the M249 would not fire at all no? Cause sometimes it fires and after a couple of rounds it stops shooting.

-Sorry but I have difficulty to understand all the "Switch" thing. I did check the review but still don't know exactly what to do.

The idea behind the switch being faulty is that over time, it corrodes, arcs, and basically just falls apart leaving you with a shotty if anything connection. Problem is, you could also have a faulty motor as well, there are ways to test either issue, but short of disassembling it and access to a local gun doc to help you along if you're new to such procedures; can be hard to help.

Well you know I'm pretty good in disassembling Mp5s and M4s but that M249 is scaring me lol

I may give it a try tomorow or check for a gun doc

If I was still on base, I'd pop over on a weekend to check it out for ya mate, but really unless you're a very mechanically enhanced person I'd wait to let a gun doc have a crack at it. Could be something simple like the switch or dead motor, or could be something so peculiar that even the gun doc needs a few days with it.

Hmm, you might want to try starting a new thread for this since this is an old problem and nothing to do with your issue. You might have better luck that way.
