Banana in the classifieds

There seem to be an increasing amount of people missing the point / not reading the rules, so here's a gentle reminder:

When an item in the classifieds gets sold, ADD banana to the original post.


Do NOT:

• Uselessly bump your thread with BANANA
  
  
• Replace the price with SOLD or BANANA
  
  
• Erase the whole post and replace it with SOLD or BANANA

There's no need to make "banana" red or bold (you can if you want, it won't change anything: mods/admins just search for the word banana). Feel free to add "banana" to your thread title, sometimes its easier to spot when we aren't searching for threads to clean and it'll show other users that the item is already sold.

Also please remember you're only allowed one bump per week (7 calender days), therefor you should only bump your thread on the 8th day. DO NOT bump your thread with BANANA. DO NOT bump your thread with SPF. DO NOT bump your thread with "pictures added"/"price drop"/"omfg buy my shitznit." Early bumps will result in an infraction.

As the person who first proposed the "banana solution" to filtering sold items out of the classifieds, I wholeheartedly endorse this reminder.

See, other forums may catch onto our neat way of doing things, then they would see increasing amounts of "banana" in their classifieds. A lack of "banana" here on ASC would result in a "banana gap" and I for one think that is just inexcusable.

i hate people who replaces BANANA with the item pricing .... im just curious and i want to know the pricing ..... replacing the price with banana doesnt help anyone. Also, i bought this M14 G&G from S.T.A.R.S , i remember clearly he wrote bipod was include but he never included one and told me he never wrote that , the whole post was deleted.

Agreed. Sometimes i like to know how much an item is currently going for. It help stop people from overly abusing prices. When they see 2-3 item x going for $500, it gives a good reference point for pricing the item.

even though I can not use them yet maybe something that could be done it to make a thread that when someone posts an item for sale in their own thread, they make a post with just the item/items names and the price. And the next time they want to sell something they just edit their post and add the new items to the list that way over time you would have a fairly large compilation of average costs for different things.

If you can't edit through the advanced editing feature, you can contact one of the staff. Some people use the "Report a Post" feature, though that's not what it's really meant for.

That's part of the reason behind "banana" and the Sold Items Archive (references for pricing, pricing evolution, trends, etc).

As for the edited thread, if you remember the thread contact an admin: few things on ASC are ever truly deleted/edited into oblivion.
