Hi-capa 4.3 disassembly issue. {TM}

I'm trying to take apart the 4.3 I have for a good cleaning. I found a guide about it (it did the 5.1, most of the assembly is the same except for what im having trouble with) and in order to remove the blowback unit at the back I need to remove the rear sight.

The 4.3 is known for not have an adjustable sight, so I can't seem to get it off properly. I unscrew the top screw on it, and remove the allen bolt where the hammer hits, but the sight won't move and the hop up unit won't move either.

Does anyone know the correct operation for removing the blowback in the stock slide on the TM hi-capa 4.3? If so, would you mind sharing.

You're referring to the blow back unit...not the hopup unit (which is attached to the inner barrel).

Is it a stock TM plastic slide? If so..you've undone the screws properly. To "pull" the blow back unit out...you need to pull the sides of the slide apart and pop the unit out. To me...it feels like you're about to tear the slide apart...and then it comes out just as you're about to give up. Litterally feels like it's going to snap.

If you have a metal slide...what make is it?

Ok yeah, sorry I meant the blowback, i'll update the OP.

It's the stock slide. And you mean pull them apart into halves? It didn't really look like that was even possible by looking at the slide. I'll take a look when I can though.

update:
So I just need to pull the slide apart so that the BBU can slide out downwards?

Grab the rails of the slide just below the blow back unit...slowly/evenly pry them apart...press a finger on the nozzle to try to move the unit out.

It'll go...just keep prying it further and further apart.

If you do end up getting it...you'll understand what I mean about prying it just up to where it feels like you're going to crack it.

Good luck

What about for a metal slide?

If I have the slide off, the spring and barrel out, what next?

Im talking KJW Hi Capa (KP05), I believe its fundamentally the same as a 5.1.

Take out the screws as described in the first post...and look up a disassembly guide as well.

The blow back unit should just fall (with a nudge) out.

Oh...except if it's a Guarder slide...then it has to slide up and forward...pain in the a&&

YouTube- Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Quick Takedown

That's a 5.1. The 4.3 has an additional screw on the top of the rear sight that also needs to be undone.

Ok cool I was able to get it. It didn't feel close to breaking but I understand what you meant.
