So after reading through this entire thread, im contemplating on whether i should remove the mound inside my Guarder Soft or my Prometheus Soft bucking. I do have the tools, and I do have the patience (as you have seen from my other modification threads) in removing the mound. I guess the best thing to do is try the SCS without removing the mound in the soft bucking and seeing if im satisfied with the results. If not, I can try to remove it and retest it again. Any other suggestions?

So I need a new guarder clear cause I ripped mine, so be carefull when handling them!
Please take no offence but let me tell you it is so nice to use the scs that I cannot agree with tys. If you have no problems with your hop-unit this can really just add to a nice set up, it wont turn sideways and screw up every mag. If you want it to cure your crappy clone, its goona take a lot more. Basically I told my team when we got them that I would not remove the bump to ensure no one had issues with inconsistant friction. That was months ago and now I can honestly say that it only gets better as the bump wheres down from regular use! Not to say its not effective at first, but as the rubber wears down you start to see the concave being more 'aggresive' in its application.

Not enough rounds to determine yet. Haven't been plinking or gaming in a while but first impressions out of the package is this:
Material as good as Laylax Rubbers, softness and suppleness of guarder clear. Mound is smaller sized than the Laylax, and is more inline with the mounds found on TM and Guarder. Marginal improvement over last rubber but that could be caused by any of the other things I did when I put it onto my hopup. If it gives good, consistent hopup and lasts as long as a Laylax rubbers I will switch. |
