GOOD NEW!
I revived the new aluminum hinge plate! It's a little different fit but it is awesome at its job and hold the folding portion of the stock WAY tighter than the plastic hinges.

BAD NEWS!
Part 27 was so damn good at its job that my part 66 is now failing VERY rapidly. 50 or so shots and the top tab is GONE. I still have the side tabs but it is only a mater of time now.

THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS AND GET WELL SOON!

Has anyone considered doubling up or finding a higher tensile spring?

I think you got your part 27 and 66 mixed up in that sentence. The hinge plate is 66. I have my aluminum one too. My part 27 mod seems to be keeping it together after 5 mags. I have also modded my recoil spring to be stronger. It's really simple with the right sized washers. I have Amos to thank for that idea.

I take it you, just put the washers around the recoil rod before the plastic stopper. That's not a bad idea, the only thing I would be concerned about is over compressing the spring, but it would not be to hard to get the proper distance sorted out. Also where can I find you mod I may want to try it

Meanwhile, in Asia, RA TECH has released the steel #048 (slide) for the SCAR.

However, the steel bolt itself ain't out yet.

alright, so im feelin better, the machine that broke down, well i had to replace a spindle in it, so now ive got all three machines running to catch up. Id say sometime next week I should be in production of part 027. The first run should produce about 40 of these, depending on that number i will split and anodize half and keep the other half raw. sorry for the delays.

Just a couple of washers is required for a noticeable difference. I will post a picture of my mod. It's pretty easy.

They used to have the steel bolt prototype for sale right next to that slide. But they recently removed it. No idea why. I almost bought it, but I'm glad I waited because I bet there was something wrong with it.

My mod.

here is what I used. Worked good.

with this mod, you lose the ability to quickly take down your weapon for cleaning and maintenance.

I'm kind of screwed now. My part 27 just exploded lol. Unfortunately I think the mod would not have worked anyways, the shear points were past the reinforcement struts.

There it is, as a combo package: steel bolt carrier

No signs of the "i hop" thing from the video, yet.

Well the top tab of my 27 flew off today. Despite my mod. The gun is still in one piece, but I'm not going to touch it until deadly finishes up. Nice find Ophiuchus.
